The answer to that will have to wait. I don’t want to put a mando up, but I might need to. If one group plays the hole and there’s no soccer, and another goes to play the hole and soccer is being played, it isn’t fair that one group has the option of going over the field and another doesn’t.

Mandos don't prevent bad throws. Considering 52 of the players are MA2, MA3, age protected, and female, this change seems very much targeted towards the minority of the field. It would also lead to unnecessary backups. I'd strongly suggest considering just leaving the course as is. Nothing wrong with having an easier section of the course, it still provides plenty of scoring separation.

BT, in order to miss the mando, you’d have to intentionally throw over the soccer field. A well placed roller can get you close to the green, the mando won’t be missed with an errant shot, it would have to be an intentional throw off the side of the tee over the soccer field. The mando is to force the hole to be played the conventional route.

Out of everyone that has played 17 to 18, between leagues and the tournament in may, I’ve had about 3 people complain about it and about 70 people tell me it’s way better than original 17 and 18. It’s a really fun and challenging hole. It’s scorable as a par 4 from shorts and par 5 from longs.

It'll be played the same as the Spike Hyzer tournament or the Stump Jump Tournament, if you played either of that. If not, imagine the green as a peninsula with the fairway being to the right of the White pole. I will Draw a diagram and post it in the pictures, I am working with the park on a way to make that OB more permanent.
