Hello everyone,
We will have more specific day to day information at the course but there are a few items that you should know before you come!
1. WHILE ON McConaughy Gulch Rd PLEASE DO NOT EXCEED 15MPH ON THE DIRT ROAD. THIS IS A PRIVATE COMMUNITY WITH HOUSES NEARBY SO LETS NOT PISS OFF THE NEIGHBORS WITH HUGE DUST CLOUDS. Directions- Easiest- From Callahan CA off hwy3 take Fay Lane east to E. Callahan Rd turn left(north) to McConaughy Gulch Rd(heading east). Travel about 4 miles east until you have reached the Gulch(There will be flags at the gate denoting the property).
2. Bring water. We will have portalets but there is no water on the site.
3. RV's and Trailers are allowed with parking located just inside the gate. anything longer than 30' will have trouble negotiating the entry gate and may not get inside.
4. Tent camping is allowed around the course. Please stay at least 150' from fairways and baskets.
5. This is a natural environment. There are some weeds along the temp holes that the cows did not clear as much as is preferred so gators are encouraged for the a couple of these holes. There are rattle snakes and other critters in these hills so please be aware of your surroundings.
6. Round 1 tentative tee times will be posted after close of registration Thursday. These may change slightly with late adds/drops so please be there at least 1 hour before your scheduled time.
7. The gates will be open Thursday afternoon, about the time the portalets are scheduled to be delivered.
8. Shirts and Player packs will be ready for distribution Friday afternoon once Ive arrived with them ????.
9. There are several wading areas in the local creek but be aware that this is snowmelt and could have a strong current so please be very cautious.
10. As this is a remote location please remember to take home everything brought to the course. The upkeep is performed for by one person and it is not fair for him to deal with 50+person's worth of trash.
11. This is a private property and the owners(the Kruegers) will pop in and out from time to time. Please keep your behavior acceptable or you will be directed to leave with no refund.
12. Have Fun!
13. We will have additional discs for purchase at the event. We also have a couple hundred dollars in swag to raffle off so bring some money if you like winning stuff.
14. We will have internet at the site near the main area. Digital scoring will be used.
15. Currently we only have 57 competitors. If this maintains we may proceed with a shotgun start on Sunday to allow those with long drives to get out of there earlier than past years.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact me via email or messenger.
One other important point. We are in the high country and fire danger is always a major concern. There are no campfires allowed on the property. Feel free to bring your camp stoves and bbqs but please no campfires
Thanks in advance,
Darren
