Wanted to give a shout out to Jersey Mike’s subs. They opened recently just around the corner from the park by sprouts. They have been incredibly easy to work with for the tourney and they told me today that they will be adding a free sandwich coupon in every player’s pack. Please make sure to thank them and let them know you are there from disc golf so perhaps we can count on them for future support.

Anyway, yes, the only course changes you’ll see day of is an OB line running down the woods side of the gravel road on hole one, mainly to clearly define the OB line rather than the fence which poses some grey areas. Secondly, as usual, I’ll paint a circle around the well shack on hole 5 which will be OB, again to avoid potentially grey areas with relief and what not. There will be a drop zone should you go OB in the circle on hole 5.

During the Iron Man there will be a “disc jackpot” CTP on hole one during the 3rd and 4th round playing to the silver basket. You will have a chance both rounds, once from the gold pad and once form the silver pad. To enter, just bring a disc to throw into the jackpot. Disc must be premium plastic or a collector disc, 8/10 condition or better, with little to no ink. Winner will win the pot of all discs brought for the contest.

In an effort to keep things moving along at a good pace, please familiarize yourself and practice the PDGA competition manual guidelines and the rules concerning pace of play.

3.02 Pace of Play

All competitors shall play without undue delay and make every effort to keep up with the group in front of them. Players are expected to quickly move from the completion of one hole to the tee area of the next hole. Any undue delay should not affect the pace of play within the group behind them. Also, while advancing down the fairway, a player shall not unduly delay play by his or her actions.

A player causing undue delays may be issued an excessive time violation by agreement of the playing group or a Tournament Official. Please see PDGA Rules of Play 802.03 Excessive Time regarding specific penalties.

802.03
A. A player has taken excessive time if they are present and have not thrown within 30 seconds after:
1. The previous player has thrown; and,
2. They have had a reasonable amount of time to arrive at and determine the lie; and,
3. They are next in the throwing order; and,
4. The playing area is clear and free of distractions.

B. A player who takes excessive time receives a warning for the first violation. A player who takes excessive time after having been warned for it during the round receives one penalty throw.
