There was some severe miscommunication from the course staff and after some time, large branches were placed on the long tee, so naturally, the rest of the groups played the short tee. We deemed this the most fair way to rule, as did the PDGA. I’m sorry about it too! But penalizing players for the course mistake would not have been correct. Sorry.

Not our problem that nothing seems to make you happy or nothing goes your way, if you don’t like it stick to FA1!!

If you’re gonna complain just do it in a better way otherwise people won’t attack you. You are know for complaining at tournaments, and make sure you go after the right person and not just assume who you should go off on at tournaments you attend!

Kara, first and foremost, Cale is the one that responded to my initial message and he was posted as being “staff” when I made those comments. He was later on removed, which is interesting (I have a screenshot showing this to be true). I did not attack Cale. I have zero issues with Cale as a human being. I’m sure he has many amazing characteristics as a person. I’m also very happy that so many people support him well and love him, but that should not be reason to bully me for pointing out the truth! Unfortunately for you, I don’t mind bullies, because I can stand up for myself just fine and I know what I’m about. In my original comment, I did not address Cale at all, but those running the event. Cale is the one that chose to respond and he did so in a passive aggressive way - that is simply a fact. I addressed specific issues with the lack of information and communication & stated that if these issues are not being addressed, then people that are more capable should take over. Second, if you (& clearly so many others) actually care about Cale, then why is it that other people aren’t stepping up and doing the planning necessary. I’m sure Cale is a very busy guy. If you care so much about his reputation, and are willing to spend the time to comment with little facts, then why not spend that time putting together a schedule or caddy book or email that provides information so we don’t have to remember every word the starter (/course director) says right before our round. Just as a simple example, I was told to follow everything on the tee signs, then we were told other information about OB, Mandos, etc. This information ended up conflicting with MANY of the tee signs. So, if you didn’t remember all the details, then you’d play the hole wrong. There’s a reason for caddy books, and this is one of those reasons. A caddy book is a way for the players to know what is happening, to know how to practice a hole, what layout and teepads are being played, etc. As I’ve stated before, this is VERY standard information to have at just about any event. This is one of (if not the) longest running A-Tier in existence. The fact that there isn’t a caddy book that’s being updated every year is just silly and negligent. So if you don’t want the Majestic staff to have a bad rep about running events poorly, then maybe those in the community should step up and put together the information that is necessary for running an event of this magnitude, status, & tier!

Cale, you’ve been passive aggressive in both of your responses. The items mentioned should be very standard practice at PDGA events. These are not extreme requests. We do not need a full schedule 6 months in advance. Once registration begins filling out, there should at least be an understanding of which divisions will play which course & on what days. At least a baseline schedule should be available 3-4 months prior to the event with updates as details are finalized. Providing explanations on what additional details are in the works. Then once you get to the 1 month mark, you should absolutely have a full and complete schedule out. If there are a couple unknown details, these should be clearly communicated and explained (not just in the comments - but on the main “about” page). People are spending hundreds of dollars to play these events including travel, lodging, etc. It is unprofessional to not include more details, especially with only days until the event. It’s also inconsiderate of people’s time and money. Yes, I agree, you did underestimate. If you go on Disc Golf Scene and look at the information that is given for other PDGA Sanctioned Events, you will quickly see that there’s a huge discrepancy between information shown on this event and most other events. Examples at the bottom. It looks as though those planning this event didn’t want to be bothered to put an effort on the front end in order to provide basic and standard information, appropriate for an event of this size. I’m not trying to be rude (although I assume you will think so). I’m being direct, honest, and straightforward about what I’ve observed. If you aren’t willing to put more effort into events you are running, or just aren’t good at planning, scheduling, etc, then maybe it’s best to find people that are. Not everyone is cut out to run events, especially large ones. Some people’s minds just don’t work that way as well as others, and that’s totally okay. What’s not okay is making things unnecessarily difficult on hundreds of competitors because you’re unwilling to see where change is needed & then getting upset when that’s pointed out. I hope you choose to do better in the future or hand these things off to people that are willing to put in the effort that is required for an event of this size and caliber. I know an option is for me to “Just not play the event.” And that’s a viable option. But why not take pride in an event that has been known for many years? Rather than ride on previous successes, instead, strive to do better. Nice! Is it possible for me to start anytime of day after 10am? I have to drop my son off at summer camp. If not no worries I know ur super busy and have a lot to handle. I'll find a way if I have to.
