Several groups came in after a lighting strike, the card I was on stayed out on hole 8 and sheltered after the lighting strike. We checked the radar and I tried to use the messaging feature on the pdga live scoring to communicate what the plan was. I was unsuccessful in sending out a message and the touch screen on my phone was barely working in the rain. In the end I called a player whose phone number I had and said the thunderstorm portion of the weather had passed and we were game on. This was about 20 mins after the lighting strike and the were no further incidents of lighting. To my knowledge no group stayed off the course more than 30 mins after the single lighting strike which is following pdga guidelines. A couple groups played straight through. The groups that left the course after the lighting strike were following pdga guidelines. Not being able to communicate to all the players in the event for what to do is on me and I will be communicating to the pdga the details. That's all I can do, the scores are final and the ratings are based on the regular pdga algorithm. I'm available to address any further concerns.
