I wanted to give you all a STANDING OVATION for coming out to support our event. Your support through attendance, donation of items for raffle packages, purchase of raffle tickets, and participation in the basket toss was truly outstanding.

I just double checked the totals for the amount raised to be donated to HD research.......that amount has me in tears: $1,176.

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. That amount FAR EXCEEDED what I was hoping to accomplish with this event. I will be VERY HAPPY to report this to Deb Boyd, HDSA Regional Development Director here in Michigan.

Will make another post regarding the amount of money raised when I get home from work today as I would like to double check the rough number we had calculated already.

WC Glow appreciates you coming out to play our event today. We hope that you enjoyed the course (both of them). Lots of water this week created some large puddles (OK, lets be honest, some of them were mini lakes) out there. I hope that it does not change your view of Independence. I think it is a fabulous course and perhaps one of the better ones we have in SE Michigan.

We are interested in hearing your feedback on the X holes. You are welcome to message me and in turn will pass the information along. Personally, I think there is a LOT of great potential at Independence on top of what has already been done with the existing/permanent holes. We hope that the changes to X10 and X11 provided a challenge and were a change of pace for some of the other holes out there.

Finally, thank you to each and everyone that helped out: Team WC Glow members for EVERYTHING that I asked you to help out with today, Josh Romine and Eric Wilcox for their hours of work on the course this week and last as well as use of a Chainstar today, folks that assisted me with getting items out from the van and packed up today, Chris Kerns and Joe Phipps for use of their Chainstars as well for the extras, Chris Kerns for his INSANE donation of merchandise for the raffles, MVP disc Sports for supporting us in contributing a BOX full of merchandise for the raffles, Innova discs for working with us on orders, Discraft discs for working with us on orders as well, Wolf Pack Discs and Club 127 for their raffle item donations. I know that I am likely forgetting some people and I do not intend to exclude you. You are all important.

We hope to see you at our next event on May 13th at Independence: Daywalker's Doubles (as the name implies, it is a doubles tournament....best shot)

With the recent rain, there is a decent amount of water out on the course. It might not be a bad idea to consider bringing additional shoes and a pair of socks as well.....We were out at the course tonight and discussed areas of concern. There are 2 holes that are not being played since there is a safety/play concern there: X12 (which is mainly under water) and X5 which is a safety concern being in such close proximity to X6 teepad.

2 additional holes will be used and in place in the morning ... more

Fair warning that with the rain we received in the last day or so, the park and course will be wet. There is standing water in spots....we will identify areas that are considered OB and provide a sheet for your card that indicates what is casual and what is OB. Not ideal for sure, but we can not control the weather.

Have some photos of new X10 and X11 holes we will be playing....will try to get them uploaded soon. They are longer, and have markings in the grass at 300 and 200 feet from basket to give you an idea how far you are from the pin.

Also, with all the rain today, there is a good chance that we may need to modify a hole or two on the X hole side (especially X12, which looked to be under water when I stopped in this afternoon). Will let you know what will be done once we come up with a plan...look ... more

Hate to give you the impression that we are changing "this" and "that" but these changes will be addressing course play/safety and hopefully prevent walking through a river just to play a hole.
