Welcome to the First Annual Highlander Classic Disc Golf Tournament

Presented By Findlay Toyota Flagstaff and the Peace Surplus

This year's tournament will be at Fort Tuthill and Thorpe Disc Golf Courses in a Scotch Doubles Format. Two rounds plus a a Putting Contest!

We plan on having a swap meet, lunch sponsors, and tons of cash and prizes for payouts, CTPs, Raffles, and more!

REGISTRATION
Registration is open to the public.

FORMAT
This is a modified alternate shot "Scotch Doubles". Literally Alternate Shot, but continuous, throughout the entire round. You choose who starts, but it's every other after that. Example: Player A drives, Player B takes the up shot, Player A misses the putt, Player B finishes, Player A is Driving again on the next hole. Pick Your Partner Wisely.

CONTESTS
The Putting Contest is a separate entry fee. Details and rules coming soon. Updated 06/02/2021

This is an unsanctioned event. So no holds barred! Just kidding, we want to keep this fun and to make a positive impact on our community and the sport of disc golf.

We're going to keep safe, follow the City and County required Covid guidelines, respect Forest Service fire restrictions, and follow PDGA guidelines for payouts.

We'll handle the payouts and trophies following the final round Sunday. The Ace Pot will be distributed with the payout if not awarded.

Why We Do It
The 2021 Highlander Classic is about generating revenue to improve our forests and courses and donate directly to Flagstaff’s most in need. Demand is high for opportunities to play competitively and our community is in need of our support.

In partnership with Findlay Toyota Flagstaff and Peace Surplus, we are hosting the 2021 The Highlander Classic to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Flagstaff and to put in some much-needed work on our courses. Our goal is to raise donations plus discs, bags, and baskets with lessons for the children of the Boys and Girls Club to enjoy, as well as our existing courses for all levels of players. less

So will the Pro/Am divisions be split up or is everyone playing at same course each day?

Can sombody please clarify the format.

What I gathered is

Player A tees on even

Player B tees on odd

After A/B tees off the other player putts

Then reset to next pad depending if odd or even who tees?

The way I read it, it is continuous trade off. No reset per hole.

It never resets. Only decision is your first drive, alternate every shot. No odd or even concept

Google said scotch doubles is tee off everywhere hole and alternate shots to finish hole. So each player tees off 9 times

Hey Nolan. Sorry for the delay, missed your message. I'm going to walk the courses this weekend and make the final determination on those layouts. I'm also going to make a player's video beforehand that we could use as reference during play.

I noticed that we are the only pro 50 we will be completely ok with moving to 40 if no other 50 register at least 4 other pairs

Not a problem Robert. We already starting combining divisions and it looks like we'll move you guys up there. Still a bit to go on registration and I know of two other MPO 50+ that are interested. Fingers crossed we get a few more. I've yet to be able to use my 40+ to my advantage yet ????
