The 24th Annual BOBIS Ace Race (2026) will be held Saturday, March 28th, 2026.

BOBIS Doubles League Membership ($TBD) Ace Pool ($TBD), and Super Pool ($TBD) will make up the Ace Pool going in plus everyone's $20 entry for the day.
This year's event will be for club members only. We will start setting up the course around 11:15, any help is always appreciated.
All Aces split the prize evenly for a 100% cash payout!
Michael "BOBIS" Paonessa 1964 - 2006. BOBIS was a founding father of the Motor City Chain Gang. He was a MCCG president at one point among many other responsibilities. He ran many leagues around town and is known for his MatchPlay, Showdown Doubles, and of course the BOBIS Doubes every Saturday during the winters. He founded the Saturday doubles and ultimately the BOBIS Ace Race. BOBIS passed away from Pancreatic Cancer in 2006. BOBIS was posthumously inducted into the Michigan Disc Golf Hall of Fame in 2026.
The BOBIS Saturday Doubles is a random draw traveling league. We play different Metro-Detroit courses every Saturday during the Winter months at 1 pm. Cost is $5 to play and a $1 Ace Pool that carries over from week-to-week if not hit. If hit, the winner takes the entire Ace Pool. Payouts for the actual league play are 100% per week. This is the way BOBIS ran it while he was here with us, this is how we will run it for as long as we carry on his format.
The league usually starts following the Turkey Open in early November and runs until the MCCG begins league play sometime in March. If the Ace Pools have any funds left in them at the end of the season, whatever is left gets added into this end-of-the-league Ace Race. The location will be Auburn Hills Civic Center Park! The entire entry fee and any left over Ace Pool funds make up the entire pot and all aces scored from the 3 rounds of 9 holes splits the winnings evenly.
