Here's a list of the Bag Tags I have in my possession after the event and who they are owned by:

These are based on challenges in either the first and/or second round. I will have them at league and any upcoming events. If you want me to pass it along for someone to get to you, please let me know.

I'll get some more info up later about payouts owed, bag tags, and all that jive once I get a chance. Scores will also be added here on dgs at some point this week.

I will check the return box tomorrow. Please keep in mind that one of our club members (Paul) is the one who empties the box and calls the numbers on them. So, if your disc ends up in the box and has info on it, you will be contacted.

Thanks to the 71 players who battled through two rounds at Punderson for the 6th annual Oderus open!! Congrats to all the winners and those who took home some goodies. Hopefully fun was had...even during that brutal 2nd round.

Scores have been updated on the PDGA event page so that now all ratings for all players and final scores should be viewable. Tomorrow I will confirm everything looks correct and finalize the event report. All MPO players have also had their payouts sent. Please let me know if there are any issues.

I'd like to thank our event sponsor, Gateway Discs for always being a great partner for the Oderus Open. They've been along for the entire 6 year ride, and will continue to be my choice for this event as long as it is going.

With that being said, this year they have kicked it up a notch by donating to the event a Bullseye Portable Disc Golf Basket!!! This basket is similar to the Precision and Marksmen baskets available on the market, but is far above and beyond the best option out there based on quality and workmanship. This basket will be raffled off after the event with tickets available for $1 each or 6 for $5.
They have also donated some really cool looking Lunar Wizards with the event stamp as well. Three of these will be used as CTP prizes for Round 2, with one available for each set of tees being played (Red / White / Blue). On top of this, there will be Divisional CTPs for Round 1 that will include a Gateway Disc and an event stamped Lil Wizard. Thanks to Gateway for hooking us up with some great prizes!!

We will also have the standard Ace Fund, with the buy-in being $2 per player. If no Ace is hit, there will be a throw off at the Sports Chalet after the event for the 100% of the pot. I am also going to do a CTP Pool for this event for $3. There will be 3 holes in the first round that will be used for this CTP, with the funds of the CTP buy-in being divided in 1/3 for each hole winner. So if you would like to get in on both the Ace and CTP, it will be $5 due the day of the event. PayPal will be accepted, but a $1 surcharge will be needed to account for the fees that are now mandatory.

If you are on the Waitlist and will not be able to play if a spot opens up, please let me know ASAP so I can refund you and we can keep those interested in playing with a more accurate list. Below you will find the OB / Special Rules list for The 2022 Odorous Open. Please note that these OBs and rules will be subject to change based on weather and course conditions the day of the event. Any changes will be communicated during the pre-round Player's Meetings and hard copies will be available for all players during check in. These rules are similar to earlier 2022 events, and we will be marking the Short Pin area for Hole 2 so that during the second round,

The 2022 Odorous Open Event OBs / Special Rules:

Hole 1: Surrounded by water (Pine Lake)
Hole 2: Yellow Rope along Pine Lake. See below for Island Rules
Hole 3: Yellow Rope along Pine Lake. See below for Gold Tee (Platform) Rules
Hole 4: Yellow Rope along left side (separating 4/9 fairways) and along creek on the right and around "island" green, including the roped area separating hole 4/5 fairways. All areas in the creek are OB, as they are between the OB ropes for holes 4 and 9. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO LONGER A DROP ZONE FOR THIS HOLE!!!!! Play your next shot from the last point the disc was inbounds with a penalty stroke for all shots played on this hole.
Hole 5: Yellow Rope along right side (separating 5/4 fairways). This generally only comes into play from the Blue or White Tees
Hole 6: Yellow Rope along Pine Lake
Hole 7: No OB
Hole 8: Surrounded by Water (Pine Lake)
Hole 9: Yellow Rope along right side (separating 9/4 fairways) and around chasm area near the Long Pin
Hole 10: No OB
Hole 11: Yellow Rope along left side and around creek that passes behind the pin
Hole 12: No OB
Hole 13: No OB
Hole 14: No OB
Hole 15: Yellow Rope along Pine Lake and on left side past the Short Pin (rough areas along Pine Lake)
Hole 16: No OB (White Ropes near "A" pin ARE NOT OB
Hole 17: No OB
Hole 18: No OB

Special Rules:

Hole 2 Island Rule: Discs must come to rest on the Island to be considered in bounds. Crossing over the Island or hitting the Island and skipping OB are not considered in bounds. YOU MUST LAND SAFELY IN BOUNDS ON YOUR THROW TO ADVANCE.

There are wooden planks on the front and right side that mark the OB line. The back side and left side areas have yellow ropes that mark the OB line. The bridge is considered OB. If a shot does not land safely on the Island, the player will throw again from the last point of being in bounds. If the attempt to throw to the Island occurs in the 2 Short Pin green and does not land safely on the Island, the player has the option to move to the concrete tee near the bridge for their next throw. This area will be marked off with spray paint to indicate the 2 Short Pin Green area that allows a player to throw from the concrete tee on their next attempt (if desired) when going OB. When throwing from the 2 Short Pin Green area, the player will have 3 attempts to make the Island. After the third attempt, they will proceed to the marked Drop Zone near the Platform stairs. If a player is outside this 2 Short Pin Green area, ALL throws will have a standard OB rule in which you throw from the last point of in bounds with a one stroke penalty with NO LIMIT or advancement to the Drop Zone. This includes the Red Tee area.

Hole 3 Gold Tee (Platform) Rule: Discs must come to rest in bounds off of the drive to be considered in bounds. If a disc does not land safely in bounds or makes contact with an object and goes OB when throwing from the Platform, the player will take their next shot from the Blue 3 Tee Pad with a one stroke penalty. The player also has the option to re-tee with penalty if preferred.

These OBs and Special Rules will be in effect both rounds.

Please note, that these OBS and Rules are subject to change based on course conditions and weather. Any changes will be communicated during the pre-round Player's Meetings to ensure all players are aware.

Tournament HQ will be at the Sports Chalet. This includes registration, the player's meeting, round 2 check-in, and any after-tournament events. The Chalet is located only a short 2 minute drive from the course and can be found taking the first left off the main park road. There is signage that indicates the proper turn. All players will be required to check in for both rounds to ensure they get the proper starting hole and any format / OB changes that may be needed.

TOURNAMENT HEADQUARTERS IS AT THE SPORTS CHALET!!!! ALL PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO CHECK IN!!!!

The Sports Chalet can be found taking the first left of the main park course and is only a 1-2 minute drive from the course parking lot. There is park signage that directs you down the proper drive.

All players are required to check in at the Sports Chalet and sign their Player Cards that have the PDGA waiver included. The Player's meeting will also happen at this location, along with payouts and awards. HOLE ASSIGNMENTS WILL NOT BE POSTED ON THE PDGA PAGE FOR LIVE SCORING!!! The event Scorepoint will be your point of contact for starting holes each round. When the board is completed and hole assignments are finalized, we will announce this for each round.

The weather looks good but hot. Be prepared with some cool drinks for the day, especially the second round. We will have some water bottles at the hole 1/15 crossover available. But it is always best to come prepared,

As of right now, MA50, MA60, MA4, and FA40 will not be playing the Long Pin on Hole 2 (Island) during the second round. If any of these divisions would like to play the full Long Pin layout that includes the Island, I have no issue with that as long as the ENTIRE division agrees. All I ask if this change is agreed upon, please let me know before the beginning of Round 1 so that I can update the PDGA Tournament Manager so correct layouts are listed for the Live PDGA Scoring App.

Sorry. For some reason the event did not set a cap or save my waitlist settings today. I have fixed it to now allow waitlist registration. But the final person who registered (Cody Dockrill) was moved to the waitlist with the 1st spot. Sorry for the confusion. That's what I get for toying with the settings today.
