Hello Folks!
I just want to send you a quick note, putting all information for this Saturday in one place. This will also serve as your player's meeting so we don't have to worry about it Saturday morning. Most of you will choose to ignore this, but for the rest of you, here we go.
First of all, thank you for signing up. These tournaments are only possible because you sign up. Thanks for being a part of it. I also want to thank MVP Disc Sports for supporting this and the other events on the Highland Rim Chainbreaker Tour Series this year. Lastly, I need to thank Austin Holman and Marshall McReynolds for their hard work in putting this course in the ground. They have spent countless thankless hours designing, cutting fairways, and fine tuning what I believe is one of the best courses in Tennessee.
GENERAL STUFF
1. Check in Saturday at the big tent between 7:15am-8:00am Central Standard Time. I will sound a horn at 8:28 for a "2 minute warning" and will sound another horn at 8:30 to start. I should have hole assignments posted by 9pm Friday night.
2. Player's must check in. Upon check in, Amateur players will receive a $25 gift card to ParkIt Disc Golf. This card can also be combined with your payouts at the end of the event. If you don't find what you're looking for, the gift cards don't expire. Save it for the next one. Gift cards can be redeemed before the round, during the lunch break, or after the round.
3. Scoring. We will use the PDGA live scoring. You can download the app or go to pdga.com/score on your smartphone. Access code is: hrcs. If you need a paper score card, one will be provided upon request. Any player that refuses to keep score will be disqualified (PDGA Rule 808A). The PDGA live scoring will also serve as your caddy book, listing all the hole distances, pars, mandos, OBs, and if there is a CTP on that hole.
4. Chuck's Concessions will be onsite selling options for lunch between rounds and at the end of the tournament. I also plan on having a TV streaming college football going during the lunch break and after the 2nd round.
5. 2nd round will start roughly about an hour after the last card from round 1 is submitted.
COURSE STUFF:
1. We added shorter, temporary tees on holes 2, 5, 8, 13, 16, and 18. These shorter tees will be played only by our MA40, MA50, MA60, MA4, and our Lady's divisions. These temp tees will be marked with flags and paint
2. CTPs. We have 3 ctps out there. Hole 14 is for a free lunch at Chuck's Concessions and is for the first round only. Hole 15 is an Amateur only CTP, Hole 8 is for everyone. These ctps are for both rounds and are for a $20 gift card to ParkIt Disc Golf. Only people who added CTPs to their registration are eligible to win CTPs.
3. Hole 4 (the cave hole) For your safety, we have marked a "Relief Area" (PDGA 806.04) using rope and paint on the rock ledges around the green. Per PDGA rule 806.04, "A relief area is considered and played as an out-of-bounds area, but no penalty throw is applied." The rule for this hole is: If your drive lands in the designated relief area between rope and paint, play from the marked drop zone, WITHOUT PENALTY. Any shot after the initial drive that lands inside this designated relief area, play from where it last crossed WITHOUT PENALTY.
4. Aces. If no aces are hit, we will have CTP throw off for the ace pot and will be split 3 ways, 50%, 30%, 20% to the 3 closest shots, unless someone throws it in. If you throw it in, you deserve all of it.
I think that's about it for now. See you Saturday.
