Thank you to all of the players who came out to support the Sumter Showdown this year. Even with a few showers it was a great day and it was also a wonderful opportunity to show off all of the hard work the club and the county have been putting in. If you have photos feel free to share with us on the Sumter City Disc Golf Club Facebook page. Also if you lost a disc on the course today, be sure to drop a note here, on the facebook page, or to me personally listing the disc and hole number so w ... more

Friends, despite my attempts to bribe the weatherman, it appears rain will continue throughout the week. This means that the creek that winds through the course will be higher and cloudier than usual and there will likely be several muddy or marshy spots on the course. Expect muddy shoes.
We will attempt to have volunteers with retrievers near the most common areas for discs to go in the water, but I encourage you to mark your discs well and bring a retriever if you have one. Any discs recovered after the water recedes will be returned promptly.

Where is the drop zone on 20?
Yes, the drop zone will be on the path between the last pine and the Bush. It will be marked tomorrow.

Is there a list of mandos on the course so if we don't get a chance to come up before next Saturday, we can know what holes have them?
For the island on #16, do you have to land it inside of the railroad ties or on the hill to the right in order for the shot to be considered in-bounds?
Eric, Kelly will correct me if I misspeak, but inside the railroad ties to make the island. Resting against the outside of the railroad ties doesn't count. We will have replaced a couple of the broken ties on the uphill side by tee-off.
Must land within the railroad ties (the island), or go to the drop zone throwing 3. The ties/timbers themselves are out of bounds.

All divisions will be playing blue tees both rounds for now.

Hey, Kelly. I’ll be coming to Sumter on Sunday to throw the course for the first time. I normally compete in the MA-60 division. If I end up in MA-50 or Rec, can you tell me which tees I would be using? I want to make sure I practice what I’ll be throwing for the tourney. Thanks in advance! Don Wall
all people tee from blue tees Don, im going up at 1 or 1:15 want a tour?

Any players pack?
I’d like a glow Teebird. Personally, I throw primarily Dynamic Discs, but a Teebird is nice and I’d like to get some more glow stuff. The corvette could work, just not a spot in my bag that I’m looking to fill.
Players pack is going to be merchbucks instead of predetermined pack. Using Innova. Any requests on disc models? Heading up there next week.

will this be sanctioned this year?
Yes. It will be a C Tier ratings based divisions for Ams and MPO and FPO for Pros
there is a flat spot about 20 ft back from the fence on the right. It will be well marked for the tournament.
