In 2025, the PDGA requires that underserved divisions (like Women's, Junior, and Senior) must be held if at least one player registers for them, even if fewer than four eligible players are registered. In all other cases, the Tournament Director (TD) has the discretion to hold the division or not. The PDGA strongly encourages TDs to offer these divisions, according to the Professional Disc Golf Association.

The first part of that section says “ A Tournament Director may limit the divisions they wish to offer at their event by listing only the divisions they plan to offer on their registration form.”. So, TDs do not need to offer age protected divisions, just must let people play if they offer it and someone signs up.
