About this tournament
$2,000 added cash
1 round of play
The 18th annual Southside Smackdown is on Saturday April 23, 2022. It is a PDGA C tier. Everyone plays two rounds of twenty holes at USA and Municipal. The first round begins at 9:00, with the second round starting an hour after the last card is completed. A players meeting starts at 8:30.
Pool A consists of all pro divisions and MA1
Pool B has all other divisions
Pool A will have 80 players
Pool B will have 100 players
Pool A plays USA first and Municipal second
Pool B plays Municipal first and USA second
Over 100% payout in every division. All players get a shirt for registering and all amateur divisions also receive a disc of their choice.
There is no cost for food throughout the day. It starts in the morning with fruit and doughnuts from Sugar Rush. Lunch will have many choices to choose from (hamburgers, hot dogs, Conecuh sausage, pizza, sides, desserts, etc.). Full menu will be listed prior to the tournament. After the second round, we'll have hot dogs, pizza and chips. Can drinks and water for lunch. Bottled water is going to be available all day. There'll be snacks in your player packs to help get you through your rounds.
Extras include: CTP's, ring of fire, free raffles, regular raffles benefiting Lee Davison's surgery costs, skittles (the winner gets 10 collectable discs: prototype, first run, limited edition, halos), a one shot 150 foot ring of fire for a nice prize (value at least $80) and possibly a skills challenge
The $2,000 added cash is a bare minimum amount. That money will be distributed evenly among the pro divisions (example: 50 pros would equal $40 going to each players division). After the $2,000 is dispensed, extra added money will focus on MPO (not all of it, but most).
Sponsorship is a key factor in having a successful Smackdown. We have several levels of donations.
$25 tee sign
$50 tee sign, a small spot on the shirt and you get a shirt
$100 tee sign, a regular spot on the shirt and you get two shirts
$200+ gets a large prime spot on the shirt with everything else included

Cash, merchandise and food sponsors are all very much welcomed
