My bad Phillip discard the request I meant to send it to the City of mobile championship

Hey when do we get assigned our tee times and what time do we show up tomorrow?

Michael Martin   April 16 at 10:56pm

Everyone tees off at 9:00. Going to have a small players meeting at 8:15

Austin Eads   April 16 at 11:42pm

Ok thanks

Somewhere around 6:00

Josh Hollier   April 16 at 1:46pm

If we check in today on Friday can we get our disc and player pack then or will we have to wait until Saturday?

Michael Martin   April 16 at 5:14pm

We'll have the stuff with us today.

Hayden Boutwell    April 14 at 7:56pm

I need to be withdrawn from the tournament. Family funeral this Saturday. If a refund is still available it would be much appreciated. If not just make sure someone from the waitlist gets promoted.
Thanks,
Hayden

Josh, not sure what happened to your question, it somehow got deleted. The tournament will play through the rain, unless it's a downpour. If lightning is in the area, everyone is removed from the course and there is at least a 30 minute delay. Our goal is to complete both rounds, but one must be finished to be official. We have delayed the start of a tournament before and will take that into consideration.

Ya I hear the biggest rain will be really early morning so hopefully we can avoid it! Thanks for the update!

Brandon Hudson    April 13 at 6:09am

Can you move me to intermediate please

Michael Martin   April 13 at 3:58pm

Brandon, I’ll get you moved over shortly.

Josh Hollier    April 12 at 1:11am

Are the courses set up how they will be for the tournament yet? I’m in recreational and am planning on practicing on Thursday and Friday and hoping the course will be the tournament set up. Also, what layouts/courses should I use in UDisc so that I’m playing the tournament layout/tee pads for my division?

Michael Martin   April 12 at 1:32am

We put flags out today for the tee boxes and baskets at Municipal Red. We're are using 13 baskets already in the ground. The other five won't be there till tournament day. You should be able to get a good idea from the flags. Tee signs are going up either Thursday or Friday. There is a des ... more

Dustin Mouret    April 11 at 10:54pm

Played the new red course layout and most of it is great. However, Hole 1 seems odd to play. Could hole 2 tee just not be backed up for use for new hole 1?

Also 9 might not be safe with people using that sidewalk a lot?

Also was curious on OB info on some holes like the new ones by the museum and such. Thanks!

Michael Martin   April 16 at 1:23pm

One is just a tough hole. Throw a placement shot, then you’ll lay up. Always wait for pedestrians to clear the area. No reason to throw with a chance to hit one. We have OB sheets printed up.

Louis Temento    April 11 at 9:09pm

Are all three courses within walking distance of the registration table or will I need transportation? (Recreational Group)

Byron Overstreet   April 11 at 9:47pm

You will need transportation if you are playing USA. the 2 muni courses are close to each other

Michael Martin   April 11 at 11:23pm

I would say that USA is about a 1.5 - 2 miles from tournament headquarters.

Dustin Mouret    April 11 at 7:52pm

What is the 17 tee location at USA? I’ve seen 3 different spots people use.

Also will 16 basket remain suspended for the tournament?

Down the hill on the flat ground with the flags.

Dustin Mouret   April 13 at 3:27am

Thanks. Also I talked to Mac Givens from the USA club today and he hadn't heard about it. I would say maybe try getting in tough with Mac or Caroline Franklin about the hole 16 basket and anything else at USA.

Michael Martin   April 13 at 9:24pm

We've talked to them, A. J. Grogan is the one that mentioned it. It will be in it's normal spot.

Jonathan Bazzel    April 10 at 12:24am

Michael Martin you can remove me from MA40 waitlist I will just play MA2

Austin Eads    April 9 at 5:56pm

So I have two questions, I'm in the junior division so what courses and tees am I going to play? And the second is if it stays only 2 kids in my division will we get moved to novice or rec?

Michael Martin   April 9 at 7:29pm

You’ll play regular Municipal and Municipal Red. Juniors play the red tees. All of the holes at Municipal have red tees, where we’ll have red tees on holes 1, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12 and 16 on our Municipal Red layout. You’ll still play in the junior division. We’ve got a $50+ belt going to the winner.

Joseph nygra    April 7 at 10:51pm

Any chance a map could be drawn out for the muni red layout. Went out today to try and figure it out but just got really confused on where to go for certain holes like hole 9.

Michael Martin   April 7 at 11:29pm

We’re going to flag the tee boxes and where the baskets are set up Saturday.

Jonathan Bazzel    April 7 at 8:07pm

If I sign up for ma2 and a spot comes available in ma 40 can you move me?

Michael Martin   April 7 at 8:12pm

Yeah, after Courtnie gets a spot in pool B.

Jonathan Bazzel    April 7 at 7:48pm

Trying to sign up for ma40 but it’s full how do I get in or on a waitlist will not allow me too in that division

Michael Martin   April 7 at 7:58pm

Waitlist is open. I just added you. You're behind Courtnie Lee who tried signing up a couple hours ago.

Byron Overstreet    April 3 at 11:39pm

Is the smackdown red layout on UDisc the same it will be this year?

Michael Martin   April 4 at 5:51pm

No, those numbers don’t look the same as last time either. We laid out the course yesterday and we’ll have it flagged next weekend.

Austin Eads    March 25 at 2:46am

So on the info about the tournament it shows 2 different courses, so are we playing both?

Michael Martin   March 25 at 3:23am

We’re actually using three courses. Everyone is playing two courses. You’re in pool C. You’ll play Municipal Red (the course is going to be set up differently than normal) first round and USA second round.

Michael Martin   April 5 at 9:31pm

The intermediate women, novice and juniors have moved to B pool. You will play regular Municipal and Municipal Red now.

Josh Hollier    March 22 at 12:11am

Is this a trophy only event for amateurs or will there be merch payout?

Michael Martin   March 22 at 12:58am

Southside will never run a trophy only tournament. The only money we pull out of the players pack is the cost of the disc (around $10). So if you pay $40, $30 of your entry fee will be in the payout. Everything else is covered by sponsors and our fundraiser we had last week. We even cover the PDGA ... more

Josh Hollier   March 22 at 1:39pm

That’s awesome to hear. Y’all are amazing for that

Chad Rowe   April 8 at 10:19pm

Wow!! That is Awesome

Dustin Mouret    March 21 at 12:00am

When will there be information on what layout will be used at Municipal Red so we can prepare for it? Seems odd to put Muni Red to use for MA2.

Michael Martin   March 21 at 5:00am

Everyone but MPO, MP40, MP50 and MA1 will play over there. We use some of the land across from the bridge to add some length. It’s not close to the normal layout (a few of the regular holes are used). We did the same thing two years ago. The course will have flags for the tees and baskets a w ... more

Dustin Mouret   April 5 at 6:13am

Is there an update on when we can see the red course layout for the tournament?

Michael Martin   April 5 at 4:51pm

I've added info on the red course in the overview. We'll have it flagged Saturday.

Ashley Elkins    March 17 at 11:01pm

What tees will FA1 be playing from?

Michael Martin   March 17 at 11:10pm

The plan is for everyone to play the regular white tees, besides FA2, MA4 and juniors.

Ashley Elkins   March 20 at 9:41pm

Sounds good!
