Pool A plays USA first round and Municipal second round
Pool B plays Municipal first round and Municipal Red second round
Pool C plays Municipal Red first round and USA second round
Municipal Red has been drastically changed for the Smackdown. Only five holes are the same as the regular layout. It's longer and tougher, but not to the extent as the other courses. I would think some good scores will be posted.
Int. women, novice and juniors play from the red tees.

The 15th annual Southside Smackdown will be held on April 20, 2019. You can sign up early through discgolfscene.com. We're doing a doubles Friday afternoon to go with early registration. You can start anytime from 2:00 - 5:00. Twenty dollars a team with all divisions paid out in cash. Saturday registration begins at 7:00 a.m. and goes till 8:30. Players meeting starts just after 8:30. First round starts at 9:00. The second round begins an hour after the last card is turned in from the first round (each pool separately).
Three courses are going to be used. Municipal (Langan), University of South Alabama and a lengthened Municipal Red. Expect all pros and advanced men to play Municipal and USA. Final decisions made this weekend (3/31/19).
Players pack for all amateur divisions consists of:
tournament t shirt
premium disc of your choice
Innova hat, mini driver and plastic bag
$5 DGU coupon card and extras we throw in
Thanks to Innova, this will only count $15 toward your money paid in. We also cover all fees and belts not taking away from the payout numbers. So, you're still playing for most of the money you paid.
All pros receive a tournament t shirt plus extras we throw in
Food for the day at no cost:
In the morning we'll have fresh doughnuts from Sugar Rush. You can also grab an orange or banana to eat or take with you.
Lunch is a buffet style arrangement with many choices. Pulled pork, hamburgers, hot dogs, conecuh sausage, Godfather's Pizza, Hooter's Wings, etc. With multiple sides and desserts to go along. Plus can drinks and bottled water to wash it all down.
After the second round we'll have another 20 fresh large Godfather's Pizzas and 20 more lbs of pulled pork with some chips.
Extras include:
Free raffles, skittles, ring of fires, distance competition for every division, regular raffles and more
Sponsorship is crucial to the success of the Smackdown. We have different ways to donate. Tee sign sponsors are $25. Small spots on the tournament shirt are $50 and larger spots are $100. All $50 sponsors receive a shirt and a disc, while $100 sponsors get up to two shirts and a disc.
The Smackdown has averaged $2,500 plus added money over the last 10 years. We don't see that changing this year, unless it's to the good.
