In case you didn't get the email....
I just wanted to send out an email addressing the Willmore situation. As most of you know, with all of the rain and flooding, Willmore has some holes that are in rough shape. I went out there today to assess the situation and see what could be done. Here is what we have decided for round 2 at Willmore.
Hole 2 will have a temp basket brought in and will play short of the standing water. It will be a 360’ par 3. We will be skipping 6 and adding 2 temp holes after hole 5 across the street from 5’s basket that will play alongside the road. The first will be a 353’ par 3 and the second a 335’ par 3 pictured below. You will then walk to 7 from 5B. This maintains a good flow since we are skipping hole 6. You will play 7-10 and then skip hole 11 (flooded and tall grass) walking straight to 12. After 12 you will skip 13 (under water) and walk to 14. This is a longer walk between these holes but there wasn’t much we could do. I have included a picture of hole 11 so you can see why it was skipped. It’s mostly under water and hasn’t been mowed at all. 14-18 are played normally and you will throw hole “19” to the temp basket right next to tournament central. Although this isn’t ideal I feel like this is a fairly close layout and you’ll get to throw some different holes as a result. The good news is that the parks department just mowed (where they could) so most of the remaining fairways are looking good. I will be sending out more information the day before the event I just wanted to let everyone know the plans.
