Hi Jimmy, thanks for posting the OB and extra holes. Was out there a couple days ago and it makes sense/looks good. One question, for the various Road OB. Is that specifically only the road as OB, or 'on or over road'?

At this point, I don't believe we can add any more holes to the course. There may be a few more drops, but I cannot guarantee anything there.

I suspect you've got a few more coming your way at some point...the ma40 division usually gets 4-8 players. We'll adjust closer to the event if necessary.

I’ve added 4 additional slots to each women’s division. I realize this does not address your question specifically, however I hope you find this to be a better solution.

I worked directly with Jeremy on the numbers for slots, but will speak with him again. I certainly can understand a desire to add more ladies spots, but at the same time then I have to pull spots from other divisions that are also filling and getting waitlists of 30+ people, there’s no great solution to the issue. He also added 16 slots to his event, which is a luxury I cannot afford.

Now, I know that the women could also sign up for the wait list and hope to get in but it's a deterrent when it's already full. I just don't think capping division at 4 is a good way to encourage women to be involved. I know it's not James or anyone else's intention to discourage anyone so I don't mean this to be super critical. Im sure James put a ton of thought into doing this in the way he thought would work the best and I appreciate that. He's right that there is no perfect solution. It's a judgment call. Just some feedback to consider for the future.

I agree with you Mr Ernst. The growth in the PDGA by women is crazy. Why wouldn't you want to let more women in and like you said a lot them more spots and if those spots don't feel then it would go to the wait list. Either way if you're on a wait list you're on a wait list it doesn't matter if there's more women spots or not the wait list is just what it is.

There’s also been growth in other divisions as well. I know this isn’t a great argument, but keep in mind that women are not restricted to play in the women’s division. They very well can sign of for non-gender protected division. I have not reached a decision on to what to do yet, but you should all realize that this isn’t a decision I’m taking lightly and regardless of whatever decision I make, someone will be displeased.

Like I say man. I know you put a lot of thought into this kind of stuff. You and I may not always draw the same conclusions when thinking these things over but I appreciate that you aren't arbitrarily doing things. It's your tournament in the end and it's likely that someone will be displeased.

Why not just get rid of division caps all together. Then whom ever registers asap gets it and there's no debate over what's fair and who should do what for what division. Its clear otherwise there's always one side that feels cheated at least without caps the only person they can blame is themselves for the most part (not being ready when things open) .

My statement was in response to people basically saying one side or the other will be frustrated i was like well you cant win!

So after reading all these comments and looking at all the slots for all the divisions it looks like there are only eight ladies between Buffalo and Rochester that play tournaments.

I think that's a fair compromise given the field size and location James. There were 4 more than that that signed up for the bfdo but the pro out of towners likely wouldn't be playing this.
