Good Evening Players!

Thank you for signing up for the 6th Annual Shady Strokes at Shady Oaks – hosted by Birdbrain Disc Golf! We are thrilled to host you at the beautiful Shady Oaks Disc Golf Course in Streamwood, IL. Special thanks to the Streamwood Park District for upgrading our course this year with new baskets & continuing to maintain the upkeep of the park. Thank you to Tim Briggs, Chase Neiweem & Tom Kuzniar for their last minute dedication in getting the course ready for the event!

I wanted to cover a few important items for all to know in order for the event to run as smoothly as possible for tomorrow.

CHECK IN FROM 7:30AM – 8:30AM at TOURNAMENT CENTRAL by HOLE 5! Ams will grab their players packs (1 Z & 1 ESP Discraft Disc) at this time.

PLEASE PARK AT BOTH THE COMMUNITY CENTER BY HOLE 1 & ON OLTENDORF RD. BY HOLE 13. DO NOT PARK ILLEGALLY OR IN OTHER LOTS, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR TICKETS OR TOWED VEHICLES.

Players Meeting at 8:30am

ROUND 1 TEE OFF AT 9AM

Lunch will be 1 hour after the last card finishes round 1. Cards will be shuffled in between rounds.

Payouts will be sent electronically for Pros, Ace Pot & $ CTPs.

CTPS are Round 1 Only – You must be paid in for cash CTPs. All other CTPs are divisional and are free, so pay attention to the division on the CTP card. Hole 13 is for everyone, including pros.

I will have an OB sheet at Tournament central for reference, but all OB is listed on the PDGA digital scorecard. 2 players must keep score on the digital scorekeeping app, either through your web browser on pdga.com/score or through the PDGA app. Access Code is SHADY

Layouts are on UDisc for review & mapping purposes. Please pay attention to the basket being played on the scorecard, but I will try to bag every pin not being used each round.

Do not go in anyone’s yard to retrieve a disc during the round. Wait until after the round and go knock on the front door, let’s maintain good relationships with the neighbors.

There will be garbage cans near the parking lot by Hole 1, please make sure your trash makes it into a can. Let’s leave the course looking prettier than it was before we got there. I believe there will be portable restrooms near Hole 1’s parking lot as well.

Happy Shady Strokes week everyone! I hope you are excited for Sunday! It looks to be a glorious day.

The course is on its way to getting set up for the event. Most of the OB has been marked, and all layouts are available on Udisc for practice/review.

AM Players pack will consist of TWO premium plastic Discraft discs! Supplies are limited to players only & first come first serve - be sure to get there early!

Tournament central will be by the tree between Holes 5, 6 & 15. This is to promote parking in both the community center lot & on Oltendorf Rd. This is also to reduce long walks to your starting holes!

Check in will be 7:30-8:30am, with a projected 9am Round 1 tee off. Round 2 is expected to have a 1pm tee off, 1:30pm at the latest.

There will be couple temp tees/pins (hole 4 temp tee Rd1, Hole 7 temp tee rd 1, Hole 15 temp tee rd 1, Hole 18 sewer basket rd 1, hole 9 temp basket rd 2, hole 12 temp basket rd 2) so I will update ASAP to you can familiarize yourself with the layouts. All divisions will play both layouts!
