On August 12, the Columbiana County Park District board of directors decided to cancel the September 5 Scenic Vista Challenge out of an abundance of caution for rising corona virus infections in Columbiana County, OH. The park district has cancelled its other events this year, as well.

We hoped that postponing the event from May 30 to September 5 and the COVID safety plan we submitted would allow the disc golf tournament to continue. Of course we are disappointed, but we understand the public health imperative and look forward to holding the event next year.

You should know that the course is still open for play, and that improvements to it will continue to be made. Many baskets have recently been moved to newly installed pin positions.

We will begin processing refunds but wanted to give you the news as soon as we got it. We are so appreciative of your interest in playing this event, and look forward to seeing you next year at Scenic Vista.

The DGU voucher is redeemable at the on-line store for whatever you want, and can be combined with other DGU vouchers. First-time orders from DGU have free shipping!

This new player package from Innova will reduce shipping costs and give players more choice in what they want to receive for their entry fee. Scenic Vista Challenge players who paid an additional $2 for a XXL t-shirt have been refunded.

In keeping with our intention of promoting disc golf for women players, we will reserve 8 FPO and 4 FA3 spots for the Scenic Vista Challenge until August 1.

If any woman who is currently registered cannot make the new tournament date of September 5, please request a refund. Any FPO or FA3 woman who would like to play in the tournament should register for the waitlist. We will promote women into open spots FPO or FA3 from the waitlist.

Scenic Vista Challenge players:

We anticipated that the PDGA might cancel sanctioned events in May, and so we have worked with Columbiana County Park District, the PDGA, and our sponsors to move the Scenic Vista Challenge to Saturday, September 5, 2020.

We will immediately refund entry fees (minus the DGS admin costs) for players who decide they cannot play the event on its new date. We ask that those who wish to withdraw request their refund through the Disc Golf Scene event page.

We all hope that business and recreation will be able to return as soon as it is safe and prudent, and fully support the need to postpone our PDGA B-tier tournament. We look forward to seeing you all on the course again later this year.

Keep the faith, skip the course and stay at home for now, and we will get through this together.

Am side of the tournament is full (even with 8 additional spots). Only a few MPO and 1 FPO spot are left, and with the added cash to the pro purses, they will be full soon as well.

We are a little more than 100 days from the tournament, and there is often movement from the waitlists, so register now if you want to play.

Thanks for everyone's show of support for the event. We did our best to adjust the division caps as the waitlists showed where the demand was. As a B-tier tournament, we skewed the divisions to favor the higher skilled divisions a bit, but the growth in the intermediate fields is undeniable.
