We will have a food truck at Mary Calder on Saturday, Chazito's Latin Cuisine. The club house will have a few snacks but there isn't much else in the area. Some of you may want to bring lunch. We don't recommend that anyone go off the property at lunch due to the risk of being delayed due to trains.

Are collared shirts required at the country club? Any other dress code?

Wes Johnson   January 12, 2018 at 9:18pm

They are not required, no. Normal disc golfing attire is fine, shirts just need sleeves. The golf course is pretty relaxed about dress code.

Question about info sent last night. You state inter men will play short long at Calder. Layout sheet states pool a and pool b for layouts at Calder. Should layout sheet have stated short and long. Or will inter which is pool b just play shorter layout. Thanks.

Hate doing this, but got sick last minute and I won’t be making it. If possible please pull me out.

Sorry to hear about the sickness, I've gone ahead and issued the refund. Hope you feel better soon!

Any hints about the Mary Calder course? Long, wide open? Technical? Looking forward to it either way! See y'all Saturday morning!

What are the chances of playing this weekend if I get on the waitlist for rec?

Will the Mary Calder course be open for practice Friday?

Wes Johnson   January 4, 2018 at 4:09pm

Yes it will, Mary Calder is letting us set up around noon on Friday and the course will be playable in the afternoon. Sharable golf carts will need to be rented for $10 to play however.

Will Hickerson   January 5, 2018 at 11:06am

Thanks

George Shaw   January 9, 2018 at 1:44pm

I believe they will also let you walk it for free

Paul Neugebauer    January 3, 2018 at 10:41pm

Julie Neugebauer will not be playing. Please open up a space and refund the $ minus the handling fee. Julie says Sorry...

Any info on the Mary Calder course? I am considering driving to the event. I see it's a ball golf course, is there pics, or any hole info? 3 and a half hours, hoping for some info before I sign up

Hi Justin, the course at Mary Calder will be designed and built the week of the event by Tim Barr. He's a professional that makes a living off temporary course designs and has created a temporary course for us in the past for the Hilton Head Invitational. That being said, I unfortunately won't have info to share about the course layout until right before the event.

Looking for a good place to stay?? Any suggestions?

Hey everyone, I'm taking the feedback for the Open into consideration and I've discussed ideas with Jon and George. The pro's seem to be favoring the idea of playing TTP twice in the weekend since they've had more experience playing ball golf courses and prefer TTP's more defined nature. That's why I've decided to switch up the playing order.

Professionals and advanced players will play TTP twice on Saturday and Mary Calder once on Sunday, with a final 6 pla ... more

Roger that. Thanks for the update Wes/

Lance Brown   December 11, 2017 at 7:46pm

Thanks, Wes. From another well-traveled pro and from what I've heard about this event, this seems like a good call.

Hal Cauthen   December 11, 2017 at 9:20pm

Thank you for l taking the players into consideration! Sounds much better :-).

Brian Schweberger    December 11, 2017 at 2:20pm

Just a suggestion.... b4 registration opens.... please think about putting the pros on TT 2 rounds. There is way more chance for score variance at TT, A TRUER test of golf ability vs a bomber fest at a ball golf course.
I have played every Savannah Open and I will always make it to this event if I am physically able. I love the TT course and it would be very disappointing to only get to play it once competitively this coming year.

Thanks for your consideration

I think it's definitely a possibility though.

Brian Schweberger   December 11, 2017 at 3:08pm

You could let each pool play the Ball golf course on Saturday

Hal Cauthen   December 11, 2017 at 7:43pm

I agree. Sometimes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Gavin Simpson    December 10, 2017 at 12:51pm

Hey Jeff, I'd like to put a specific name on the sponsorship for Gavin Simpson... Do I do that on here or in a personal email to you sir. Looking forward to playing Tom Triplett again!

Hey Gavin, I'm running this event this year. You can email me what you would like the sponsorship to say at [email redacted]

So once the 36 spots are full registration will be closed till dec 15? Or will you open it up to others before the 15th if those 36 spots full?

Jeff Miller    December 10, 2017 at 12:18am

36 spots?? Is this a misprint?? This $40 sponsor?? Seems like this should have been posted on event schedule. I guess we will wait until them spots are filled. Will there be anymore surprises when it comes to this tournament? We are trying to plan a vacation around this tournament. Since I’ve been following this tournament the sign up day changed. There was a course added and now a $40 fee to sponsor a hole??

Wes Johnson   December 10, 2017 at 1:13am

Hi Jeff, the 36 spots are just for early registration hole sponsors. The official sign up date is December 15th at 7pm, there should be over 100 spots available. I apologise for the changes and confusion.

Jeff Miller    December 9, 2017 at 2:00pm

Could someone please tell me how far these two courses are from each other?? And the pros are playing the ball golf course twice? And the disc golf course once?? Just wondering coming from Michigan 1pro and 1 am with 1 car. Thanks in advance

Wes Johnson   December 9, 2017 at 4:29pm

Hi Jeff, the courses are about 16 minutes apart from each other. Currently the plan is to have the pros play 2 rounds at Mary Calder on Saturday while Am's play 2 rounds at Tom Triplett. Advanced players should be playing with the Pros.
