All;
Tomorrow is Sausage Fest Lives! This email contains important information, so please read carefully.
First: it's probably going to rain here and there. We will play in the rain, so bring your gear. NWS is predicting scattered showers and possible thunderstorms. If lightning strikes nearby, I will send three blasts on the air horn and push an emergency notification on the PDGA Digital Scorecard. This means play must stop immediately and you should head for shelter (on the front side, that's your car) and await further updates through the Digital Scorecard.
Next, review the players' meeting video (for my Deaf/HH players: the video contains no dialogue; all rules are in captions) for course rules and hole-specific rules. We are playing all short to long except holes 2 and 13, which will be long to short. Finally, double-check your tee time assignment.
In addition to the course-specific rules, please also ensure that you are familiar with the Official Rules of Disc Golf, especially the ones cited in the players' meeting video.
Tournament Headquarters will be Pavilion C near 13's white tee at the Laurel Hill Park Central Green. Please check in with me when you arrive at the course. You may warm up on the practice basket near Tournament Central or in the field at the Central Green, but you may not warm up on the course. AMs, you will all receive an event shirt (those who got in late/off the waitlist may have a more limited selection of sizes). PROs, your projected payouts are here.
Official scoring for this tournament will be the PDGA Digital Scorecard (which can also be accessed through the great new PDGA Live App). The access code is CASING. The paper scorecard is your backup and must be reconciled with the Digital Scorecard before submitting scores (CM 1.05.G).
Foss and I will start cooking sausages around 10:30am. There will be lots of sausages, including Impossible sausages for our vegetarian and vegan players. I daresay you will be able to eat as many sausages as you care to eat. This is why it's called "Sausage Fest," you see. I will also procure a dizzying array of condiments and toppings. BYOK.
A note about the neighborhood: when you are on the north side of the course (holes 1-7,17-18), please do not use any private residence's trash receptacles. The community has experienced some frustration with disc golfers treating their private trash receptacles as if they are public trash cans. Regardless of your opinion on that stance, it is critical that we maintain a good relationship with the homeowners. Please keep any trash with you and dispose of it at Tournament Headquarters.
Finally, if you plan to compete in a PDGA Major and want to verify your identity, I will be able to do so at this event.
That's it! If you have any questions about the tournament, or disc golf rules, feel free to reach out.
See you tomorrow!
