SASQUATCH OPEN 2021:
Thank you for coming to this year’s Sasquatch Open. While the pandemic is winding down, we still ask that you practice social distancing and try and maintain a 6’ distance from others. We also request that you respect others and their wishes in regarding their comfort level of exposure. If they ask you to move a little further away, just move a little further away.
There is no player’s meeting. This letter will work as your meeting. If you have any questions, please feel free to come ask them. Also please look for our postings of tournament information at Tournament Central (the building).
Scoring this year will be primarily done using the PDGA live scoring App. The website is:
www.pdga/apps/tournament/score/login
The code for this event is: SAS2021!
Only 1 person in your group is needed to keep score electronically. If your group is unable to do scoring electronically, please see Tournament Central to get a paper scorecard. If you use a paper scorecard, then make sure to turn it into Tournament Central immediately after the round.
We will be keeping a leaderboard for help in visualizing the standings, but in a case where the leader board may disagree with the electronic hole assignments, the electronic posting will take precedence.
The first round, everyone will be playing short tees except for the MPO and MA1. The second round, the MPO, MA1, and MA2 will be playing the long tees and everyone else are on the short tees.
The 2-minute warning will be blown at 9:30am for the first round. Please make sure to be on your tee by then and that your group has figured out who is keeping scores. The start of the second round will be posted. The posted time will be the time the 2-minute warning is blown.
Awards are also going to be different and for the amateurs it will take a little longer to get your stuff. There will not be a regular awards ceremony. A list of the winners and how much they won will be posted and when you collect winnings you will need to be checked off our list. The Pros will have their choice to collect cash at the event or have their money sent via PayPal. To limit how close people get while selecting their winnings from our merchandise we will call people to come and select what they want. It will only be a few people at a time and will be done according to how they finished and their divisions. So, if you place, please do not go far from tournament central. So, you can hear when we call you to get your stuff. If you are not vaccinated, we request that you wear a mask while selecting your winnings.

COURSE RULES:
In General: The course is surrounded by water that comes into play on several holes. All water is OB unless, there is something specific stated in the following. Some of the water is swampy and mud and can be hard to define. Other areas where it is well defined. These areas where the waterline is in question (muddy and no visible water) will be OB if the thrower is unwilling to throw from behind their lie. They can take a stroke and move their lie to the nearest solid ground along the flight path as agreed to by the majority of, the group. A questionable water lie must be viewed by the group before moved or thrown from.
All paved roads and paths, on or over, are OB. The posts along the road and parking lot are not the OB line. The edge of the pavement is the OB line.
The orange markers for the 10m circle are not perfect and vary by as much as a couple of feet. Please confirm before jump putting.
Hole 10: There is a marked OB behind the basket. If a disc goes into this OB, the player must move their lie to the Drop Zone (cement paver) in front of the basket and take a stroke penalty.
Holes 11 & 12: The gravel parking lot on the left side of the fairway is OB. It has a painted line to mark the boundary.
Hole 12: The “Hot Tub” pond is OB.
Hole 14: The gravel drive is not OB.
Hole 15: Any standing water in the area of the basket is casual. Only the ponds on the right and left of the short tee are OB.
Hole 16: Only the pond on the right side of the fairway is OB. All other water is casual.
Hole 18: The rope line long of the basket is OB optional. If a player goes past, they can choose to play from the lie or take a penalty stroke and move their lie accordingly for OB rules with the rope being the OB line. There is no relief from the rope unless a penalty stroke is taken. There is no Drop Zone.
