Lions Conservancy Park is now officially open and mapped out on uDisc! Please note: there will be a few minor changes to the layout for the Fall Classic, which will be communicated at least 1 week before the event. But if you go out and start playing now, it will definitely prepare you for the event.

This course is a 21 hole layout, par 68 and approximately 7900 feet. This includes 13 brand new holes, combined with 8 holes from Iwen North, and plays in a figure 8 shape. You play the first 7 holes at lions, cross Iwen hole 8’s fairway and proceed to Iwen hole 9. Play Iwen holes 9-13, then circle back and play 6-8. From there, you’ll play the remaining 6 holes at lions back to the parking lot.

Reminder that Amateurs must register by next Monday, August 21st, to receive the full players pack consisting of the customized flippy jersey and bag tag (among other items). Ams that register after this date will receive a players pack of equal value, but it will not include a jersey or customized items.

The course is in its final stages of being completed, and will be ready for play soon! I’ll make another post when it is ready with course info and additional details.

Less than 2 months to go and registration is over halfway full! Sign up today so you don’t miss out on Fargo’s first ever A-tier! Registration link is below.

Work on the temporary course and tournament layout is underway! Pics have been added to the pictures tab to give you an idea of the land we are using and what some of the fairways will look like. There is still a lot of work to be done and it will likely be a few more weeks until it is ready, but I’ll keep everyone updated on its progress. Reminder the tournament layout will still include between 8-10 holes from Iwen’s main 18 hole layout.

Also reminder that Ams must register by August 20th to get their customized jersey from Flippy Disc Golf in their player’s pack. When you register, you can choose the pattern you want, and include your name and/or PDGA number on the back and/or sleeve. If you plan on signing up but can’t pay until after that date, send me a message and we’ll work something out.

Amateur players pack

This year’s Amateur players pack will include a customized flex start jersey from Flippy Disc Golf. When you register, you will choose your size, and you will also get a choice of 3 available patterns. You can also choose “other” if you’d like to choose a different pattern available on their website (link below) and will enter that pattern name in the comments section. Also, you can choose to have your name and/or PDGA number included on the back of the shirt, or on one of the sleeves. If you would prefer not to add your information, you can leave those sections blank. You must register by August 1st to customize your jersey. Examples of the 3 patterns are included in the comments. Please note, we do plan on making changes to the event logo so it is specific to this years event, but wanted to give you an idea of what the jerseys will look like. Let me know if you have any questions or issues when registering!

Iwen course update

There is a construction project happening in a part of Iwen Park, which is causing that area to be unplayable for the tournament. We are working with park district to relocate some of the baskets to an area of land north of Iwen to create a new 18 hole layout. This layout will be designed by Joey Schmit, who designed the majority of the current holes at Iwen. The layout combines holes 6-13 from the regular Iwen layout and 10 new holes throughout Lions Park. The first draft of the layout, which is in the pictures tab, is a par 61 with a variety of shot types that maintains the feel and challenge of the regular Iwen layout. The parks and I will ensure the course is well maintained with adequate amenities, and up to A-tier standards. We're hoping to have the layout installed in July, and I will update everyone when it is ready for play. Thank you!
