Good evening, everyone!
Thank you all for signing up for this tournament and supporting our club! This email will cover all the details over tomorrow's proceedings, please read it so you are prepared for tomorrow.
Concerning check-in. The town has informed us we must use the pickle-ball courts parking lot as tournament central due to the construction at the hole one parking lot. Again, tournament central will be located at the pickle-call courts parking lot. Please check in at least fifteen minutes before your tee time. Everyone will start their round at hole 3 for the easiest access back and forth from the parking lot.
We will be using U-Disc score the rounds, the event is called RIT Disc Golf Club Fundraising Tournament. To make the pars consistent, MPO is in a separate pool from the AM and WO divisions, since U-Disc does not allow people to play different layouts on the same card. Therefore, MPO can only have cards on U-Disc with other MPO players, and AM and WO players can only have cards with those divisions. We are not going to split cards up, just be honest in your score keeping if you're the lone MPO on a card. It will run like a league, check in to U-Disc, select your division, and start your round.
This is an unsanctioned event, but we want cards to enforce PDGA rules to maintain fairness since there is a payout. The OB list is typed out, and attached as a file so you can download it in case you get poor reception out on the course. We denoted OB how it is typically played, nothing crazy. For sand pits, they are in play as hazard. Use your best judgement and rely on your card mates for calls, be fair.
In the event of a tie, cards will be assessed in a match play fashion to determine the winner. To elaborate, the two cards of the people in the tie will be compared, and holes won will be counted as points, and whoever has the most points wins. For example, in the round that led to the tie, if person A birdied hole 1, but person B parred hole 1, person A gets a point.
For payout, top three in each division will be paid out as such:
First: 50%
Second: 30%
Third: 20%
We have trophies! Courtesy of Ben Casper, we have a trophy for each division's winner!
We'll have water at check in, and at hole 12.
Some additional days of events are going on tomorrow, we are raffling off a practice basket. This basket is worth $175! Raffle tickets will be $5 for one and $10 for three. Drawing will occur after the tournament.
