Here's your friendly reminder regarding Division/Course Assignments for Round 1 of the Pure Flight Open!

Here are the Division/Course Assignments for Round 1. Find your Division and what course you will be playing in Round 1. You will go to this course to sign in, pick up your player pack, and play Round 1. Once your Round 1 is complete, we will break for lunch.You will then head to the other course and notify the TD that you have arrived. Justin Edwards will be handling Boardman, and Luke Shelton will be handling Austintown. Roughly 90 minutes after the last card completes their first round, there will be a short player's meeting at each course. All players will then play their Round 2. After Round 2 completion, all players at Boardman will head back to Austintown for awards and payouts.

Note - If any players do not wish to attend the awards/payouts at Austintown, those players receiving payouts will receive gift cards to the Pure Flight Disc Golf Shop.

Hole 1 - On and over walking path on right side of fairway and beyond basket.
Hole 2 - No OB
Hole 3 - On and over walking patch on left side of fairway.
Hole 4 - Any disc on the tennis court or parking lot is OB. Any disc on the deck of the cabin is OB
Hole 5 - No OB
Hole 6 - No OB
Hole 7 - Water (river) on left side, down the hill.
Hole 8 - Note: Essentially, you are teeing off from the OB area. You must cross the river to be in bounds off the tee. In or over river on right side of fairway is OB. Player can choose to play line of flight (if last point in bounds is known), or proceed to drop zone.
Hole 9 - OB if completely surrounded by water in the river. Player can choose to play line of flight (if last point in bounds is known), or proceed to drop zone.
Hole 10 - Any disc in river, or right of the river, is OB. Player can choose to play line of flight (if last point in bounds is known), or proceed to drop zone.
Hole 11 - No OB
Hole 12 - Parking lot on right side of fairway
Hole 13 - OB if completely surrounded by water in ditch behind basket.
Hole 14 - OB beyond fence on right side of fairway.
Hole 15 - No OB
Hole 16 - Parking lot behind basket
Hole 17 - Beyond fence on right side of fairway, up to the island. Right of fence on island is not OB. Green is an island green, which will be marked. You do not have to hit the island on your first shot. Any disc beyond green, left of green, right of green, or in gravel pathway, are OB. Play line of flight.
Hole 18 - Completely surrounded by water in swamp left of the basket. Play line of flight.
Hole 19 - Parking lot is OB. Must navigate left of mandatory. Play from the drop zone with penalty stroke if mando is missed.

The Pure Flight Open is only a few weeks away! We're working hard to make this an exceptional tournament for you all.

As the waitist is still in a state of flux, with players dropping and new people registering, we will not be posting which divisions are starting at which course until likely the evening of June 3. When this information is posted, it is ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL that you take note of which course you are starting on. In addition to posting that information here, I will be sending out emails to the entire field, as well as posting on the Pure Flight Disc Golf group page on Facebook. We will also be having a pre-tournament informational live video the night before the tournament. If you show up at the wrong course to start the tournament, it will be incredibly difficult to accomodate.

Also, the final schedule and OB lists will be available in the coming days. We will be doing everything in our power to have the courses in tournament condition several days before the tournament.

Pure Flight Open update! The field will be capped at 144 players. On the day of the tournament, roughly half the field will play round 1 at Austintown, with the rest playing round 1 at Boardman. We will break for lunch, then everyone swaps courses for round 2. Awards and payouts will take place at Austintown Park after round 2. We're up to 89 players registered already. Let's fill it up!

My husband and I are excited to participate in our first tournament and support the growth of the sport in the Mahoning Valley. We signed up as novices after reading the division descriptions, but I see that more people are signed up in the recreational divisions. We are casual players - maybe we should have signed up under recreational? I registered for a trilogy tournament in Emporia, Kansas last summer and if I recall correctly I registered under recreational which meant no scores.
