2nd question. If I play in Open division, would it affect my availability to play Amateur divisions in future tournaments? I'm rated 862

Not unless you are 966 rated and higher.

The ratings limit for pros playing amateur divisions varies based on the division. It is 970 for MA1.

The Amateur classification is "full" 70/70 but there is still availability in Rec. Do I have to go to waiting list if I want to play Rec division?
