Hello everyone,
We at Team Mojo just wanted to take a moment to say welcome and thank you for joining us this weekend for our 6th Ohio State Masters. We hope you have a great time!
Some things to know for tomorrow…. All Pros, Ma40 and Ma50 will be playing at Galion. Two rounds of 24, Ma40 and MP50 will play round one from the longs, round two from the short tees. All others will play short/short. We WILL NOT play the long tee on hole number ten.
OB will include all roads and parking lots (use guardrails or cable as the marker where present) Surrounded by water or over the small creek on 14. The reservoir bordering hole 21 is drawn down as I type this, just to keep it consistent, if you end up going wide left and wind up on solid ground where the water normally is, that IS OB as it has been when water is there. It’s pretty obvious where that ob line should begin, past the grass and on the hard dirt surface. There is also a mando tree on the right side of that fairway.
Into or over the high grass bordering holes 19 and 23 would be OB.
Those who have played here before are aware, but there is also two large patches of high grass that the course seems as a wildlife area. Those areas are also OB. One area borders hole 2, 3, 7, 8 and 9. The other borders holes 20 and 21. Use the high grass as a marker if no painted line exists. Anytime a painted line does exist, it shall be deemed as the ob marker.
Any disc over the edge on hole ten is also OB. Again, if a line is painted, it would serve as the marker.
Lunch break may be shortened depending on weather, this is pertinent info for both courses. Especially if you are one of the last cards in. Do not leave without knowing when round two will begin. Lunch options are within five minutes of both courses. Or if you like, there will be an option on site. The local club at Galion will be offering up two hot dogs, chips and water for I believe they said $7. At Bucyrus Mama Mojo will be serving chicken and/or hot dogs. Two dogs, chips, cookie and water is $5. Dog and chicken is $6 and two chicken $7, with the chips, cookies and water of course.
Bucyrus Aumiller Park will be hosting our Ma60, MA70, all women and our old guys Ma4. PLEASE NOTE….. Bucyrus will present some challenges I’m sure. There will also be a baseball tournament going on at the same time. When you come into the park there will likely be someone taking an entrance fee. Just tell them you are there for the disc golf tournament and not for baseball. Parking may be a challenge but there is plenty with spots up by the pool if needed in addition to our normal spots.
The guys will be checking you in at the shelter #10. That’s the biggest stand alone shelter on the top of the hill by 18’s basket. OB at Bucyrus is simple, on or across any road, in or across the river. On or across the sidewalk, except hole 16 which is on only. Please be aware of the youngsters who may not be aware of what we are doing. Also help us police those out of town folks who may actually attempt to park on the course in harms way. I will be posting “no parking” signs in the normal spots they sometimes use, but those aren’t always observed. A gentle “your vehicle could get hit there” may be what it takes if you see someone. Hole 14 and 18 are where this is most likely to happen. If they want to park on the grass and are not likely to be in harms way, that’s ok.
We also again have our wild flower situation going on at Bucyrus on holes 11 and 15. It’s ok to trample through there playing our rounds, but heaven forbid them mowing them down a couple days early. Keep your eyes on your shots in the high grass area.
Any other info is likely to be posted on the DG Scene tourney page in the comments and on the Team Mojo Disc Golf Facebook page. Thanks again and have fun!
