Hi everyone, thanks for coming out for the Oakwood Meltdown. Below is everything that you should need to know for the event.If you are currently registered, but can no longer make it, please let me know as soon as possible.If you are on the waitlist please keep an eye on your email for an email from discgolfscene.com to let you know you have made it in. I will also send you a text if a spot opens up for you. There will be a players meeting at 8:40 at the shelter to answer questions and review any necessary rules. The Gray Duck Disc Golf storefront (across the street) will serve as tournament central. I will plan to be around the shelter around 8:15am until after the players meeting for anyone with questions.  Nick will be at Gray Duck Disc Golf at 8am in case anyone needs anything before the event. I will head over to Gray Duck Disc Golf immediately following the completion of the first and second rounds to work on coordinating the second round and payouts respectively. If you have any questions on rulings you can either come to the shop after your round or contact me by phone at 507-217-6652. Final Payouts will be available within the shop at the end of the day, or you can redeem or collect your payout at a later date. All merchandise credit earned will expire one year after it is earned.
Every player will be required to keep score for everyone on their card. Players must either use the PDGA digital scoring at pdga.com/score (or on the PDGA app) or use a paper scorecard. All digital scorecards need to be submitted and all paper scorecards will need to be turned in at the store within 30 minutes from when you finish your round or you can text me a picture of the scorecard (507-217-6652). Please review all scorecards within your group before submitting or turning in your scorecard. If you are keeping a paper scorecard you must mark it in a way that I can identify who the scorecard belongs to. Any invalid scores or late scorecards will be given a 2 stroke penalty for the scorekeeper. It is much preferred that players use the digital scoring rather than a paper scorecard (but paper cards will be available) as it will make the second round start faster and the end of day payouts will be ready much faster. The digital access code is oakwood.

Hole assignments will be posted on the event page Saturday morning (https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/100619).

The second round will start one hour from when the last card to finish is complete with their first round. The second round start time and starting holes will be posted on the PDGA results page https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/100619 shortly after everyone has finished their first round. If you are ready to tee off one hour from when you finished, you won't be late. There will not be players meeting before the second round. Please check scores after you are finished with your second round. Any ties for first place in a division will need to have a playoff. Players tied for first will start a sudden-death playoff on hole 1 and will alternate who starts on each hole until there is a winner. We will loop through holes 1-3 (including 2 A) for any playoffs.
Payouts for the Open divisions will be available in cash at the end of the day at Gray Duck Disc Golf or via PayPal or Venmo. If you choose PayPal or Venmo, please make sure to provide any necessary information of where you would like the payout sent. If you want to get cash after the event you may cut to the front of the checkout line as I will have envelopes ready to go.

Payouts for AMs will be available at Gray Duck Disc Golf across from Oakwood Park at the end of the day. Once everyone is finished with the second round, payouts will be posted on the disc golf scene event page https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Oakwood_Meltdown_2026. After payouts are posted you can redeem your credit in the store. All merchandise credit earned will expire one year after it is earned.

Everyone is playing the same layout. We are playing the classic layout with 3 temp holes added. The classic layout is the short tees and baskets for any holes that have more than one option. Full layout details and OB rules are listed below.

We are using an optional $2 Ace Pool this season. If no one that pays into the ace pool for the event gets an ace, then the ace pool will carry over to the next event. If you are not sure if you signed up for the ace pool you should be able to check the email you received when you registered or check with me prior to the first round. If there are no aces in the final event of the season the ace pool will be added into the Gray Duck Tour Series payouts.

Gray Duck Tour Series
We are doing a season points series again this year for the Amateur divisions. Here is the structure:

$1 of every MA1, MA2, MA3, and MA4 entry goes to season payouts for the division that the player played in.

Event Points Calculation:
1st = 100 + (0.1 x players in division)
Everyone Else = 100 - ((place-1) * 30) / players in division

Total Season Points will be equal to the Top 6 events for each player in a division.

After the final event of the year the Prize pool value for each division will be equal to the total number of players that played in that division for each event combined.
The top 5% of each division's season points leaders (up to 10 players total) will be paid out in merchandise credit after the last event of the season.

We will be adding 3 temp holes to get an additional 15 players into the event. We will not have room to add any more, but some spots may open up due to drop outs. Each temp hole is shown in the pictures section. 2A and 3A are the same as what has been used in the past. Since we are playing the classic layout we can use the second half of hole 17 long as another temp hole. We will tee from the top of the crest (about 10 feet from the brush line on the north side of the fairway). This should keep it away from shots on the short 17 basket. I will mark the tees for each of these holes in the next few days.
