This is a fundraising event for the families that were involved in the tragic events that have recently happened in Oxford Michigan. This horrific event has effected an entire community and more. Ive seen the disc golf community come together for some great causes over the years and I believe we can come together again to help these families when they need it most.
This will be a one round singles tournament, with tee times, open to all players of all skill types. A seasoned player, great. A beginner, even better. You've never played before, we'll help get a disc in your hand and send you on your way. $25 per person regardless of division. The winner of each division will be awarded a trophy, a division must have at least 3 people to receive a trophy (1-2 person divisions are still allowed to play).
Full refunds will be given to anyone that drops from the event BEFORE January 1st at 10pm. If you drop from the event after that time you WILL NOT be given a refund. This is being done to help prevent last minute drops the week leading up to the event.
We will be putting a player cap at 180 people. All players will play the original 18 hole layout. We will be doing tee times starting at 8:00am on January 8th. We will tee off groups of 5 people every 10 minutes. PLEASE ARIVE 30 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR TEE TIME. Registration will be in the Smith Silo by hole 4s tee pad. As soon as a division has finished scores will be added and winners will be awarded accordingly. We are doing this to maximize the amount of people that can attend this event and provide the best possible playing experience for all participants. If things go properly our last group will tee off at 2:00pm or sooner.
We will post a player meeting video and tee times on January 7th. The video and tee times will be posted to the tournament FB group page and shared accordingly. All players will receive a caddy book upon check in containing important information about the event.
The raffle will take place in the senior center in the front of the park (connected to the parks office). People wishing to donate discs or other merchandise to the raffle are encouraged to drop off their donations to the parks and recs office during business hours, monday-friday 9-5. If you are unable to drop off your donation than you can ship it to the address provided below. We wish to have all donations before the event starts. This way we can have all winnable prize packs available to people as soon as the event starts.
The raffle will occur at the same time as the tournament. Tickets for the raffle will be $2 each, $10 for 6, or $20 for 13 tickets. We will take cash and Paypal for ticket purchases. Players and even people who are not able to play can go to the senior center and purchase their raffle tickets at any time between 8am and 6pm. After 6pm we will draw the winners of the various prizes we will have available. A PERSON DOES NEED TO BE A COMPETITOR OF THE EVENT, OR BE PRESENT DURING THE DRAWING, BUT WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE CONTACT INFORMATION ON THEIR TICKET IN ORDER TO WIN. If a ticket is drawn with no contact information we will draw another ticket. Prizes will be available to be picked up at the parks office for the winners.
For side bets we will have a $5 ace pool, $5 CTP, and mulligans at $5 each. The ace pool will payout in a merch prize that will be worthy of the total pot. We will have an all division CTP and a CTP for each individual division that will award a merch prize to the winner. A division must have 3 players to have its own divisional CTP. A division with less than 3 players will still be able to compete for the all division CTP. A player can purchase up to 4 mulligans that can be used to re throw any shot. Each mulligan can only be used once.
