Thank you to everyone that made it out despite the weather. I can definitely say the wetter you were the more fun you had or at least more strokes! Thank you to everyone that helped, everyone that brought food, my parents, Zach Anders helped setting up as well as bringing a cooler of water and the basket for 18A, Dylan Davis helped setup as well as bringing the megaphone I could not part ways with, Matt Hannigan designed the tournament logo with GoodThree, Jason Armstrong (Grains and Chains) made our wonderful trophies, and all the raffle prizes came with the Discraft sponsoring the event! Be sure to thank everyone you can.
Taking home $40 from the ace pot in a throw off from the Pavilion to 10's basket by mere inches was Jess Felman! We had several raffle winners some say rigged. Oh wait that was me. Taking home the bag was Chris Turner, but the real winner was Bret Unger who had 3 winning tickets! By the way we raised $55 with the raffle for the Campership Fund! Closest to the pin winners were Emily Daubert (Pink), Wyatt Trump (Bronze), Chris Turner (Silver), and Clay Roth (Gold)!
We had 20 players come out. Which is 1 more than last year's Introducing Nawakwa Woods! Way to go even with the rain! We were able to raise $60 with registration! All together that is $115 going to Campership! Before the tournament we were able to donate a bin of discs for campers to use! Hopefully once I am able to go through what all is left we may have more for the camp or a way of benefitting the Campership Fund with the remaining discs! Next year I hope for even bigger Nawakwa Woods Open and to maybe unveil another event utilizing both the basket and target disc golf course!
