TD Pre Tournament Briefing:
Welcome to our 8th annual Mulligan, which is going to be one of our best ever. Even the weather forecast looks great. We appreciate you signing up. Hospeace House volunteers have beat the pavement collecting prizes from vendors. This year we have a record number or prizes, so it will be a most rewarding tournament. We would like to thank all of our sponsors including the businesses, hole sponsors and individuals who have generously supported this charity event. And a big shout out to the HH volunteers in advance for the exquisite luncheon they are putting on for our players.
There will be no OB. If you end up in one of the large ditches you have the option of playing the lie in the ditch or you can take optional relief without a stroke loss. Move the disc back in line with the basket to the nearest point out of the ditch.
Each player receives one free Mulligan per round and may buy one more per round (before the round starts). If you declare you want to use your Mulligan your first shot becomes void. Record on the paper score card that a mulligan was used. This year, we will allow you to use your Mulligan on CTP holes also.
We spent many days weed whacking so as to make your play more enjoyable, speed up play and to limit lost discs. If a player’s disc is lost everyone should assist in looking for it. After a full 3 minutes of searching if not found the player must reshoot from the point of the original shot with a stroke loss.
Top finishing pro players will be paid cash. Lower finishing ones may receive prizes or a combination of cash/prizes. ($ for food, a small donation, and a small amount for the “extra” Pro cash CTP was deducted before the payout calculations were made). Pro players will also have a prize ctp in one round, and those who paid in will partake in the regular cash CTP.
For those who bought into the cash CTP, it will be divided into two groups higher level players and lower level. (HH receives 50%) The cash CTP will be on hole #3. Half of the players (that bought in) round one, and the other half round two.
Beer tokens for the Brewery in Naples will be attached to 9 of the CTP prizes. Except for the buy in cash CTP, all others CTP’s come at no extra charge. And there will be several each round divided up by division groupings.
Ace Hole: HH receives 50%. The rest goes to players who Ace a hole. If no one aces HH keeps the ACE pot.
The player who shoots the lowest score (either round) will have her/his name inscribed on the coveted Mulligan trophy. The trophy will be housed at the Naples Brewery.
The Am player who shoots the lowest score (either round) will receive a special first place Am player prize. A $125 landscape picture by a local artist. That player will in addition receive the corresponding division player prize depending on where he/she places.
All player prizes except for the HOT ROUND Trophy and HOT ROUND Am Picture award will be tabulated off of total score both rounds. First place ties will be settled by a CTP throw off- Each player will have two throws at the basket. Ties other than for first place in a division: awards will be split between the players who tied.
The MA70 group is playing a 27-hole tournament. All others are playing two full rounds.
Scoring: This year we are using UDISC Electronic scoring for as many players as possible. We will also have paper score cards for those who do not have a UDISC account or who do not want to use electronic scoring. We would like a minimum of 2 in every foursome group to keep score to ensure that it is accurate. Paper score cards should also be used to check off player Mulligan use. (We will mark the cards with the number of mulligans available per player).
In order to participate in the Udisc live scoring players need to be a member of Udisc. If you are not a member you can download the app and set up a free Udisc trial membership. Expired memberships will also work. Please check your udisc profile asap to ensure your name is your user name, or let me know what your user name is. Participating in the udisc live scoring is not mandatory, but we encourage you to do so.
We will group players by division for the most part, but if you have a preference on who you would like to play with please message me (the sooner the better) and I will do my best to team you up (if I can)….
We will have a Ring of Fire pie shoot before each round (no charge). Bring cash for raffles and games. The raffle will have plenty of prizes so the $ you spend on tickets is apt to give you a very good return. Before round #2 we will have the 50/50 cash drawing. The prize raffle drawings will take place after players receive their rewards- all remaining prizes will be raffled off. We are hoping as many as possible join us at the Naples Brewery afterwards for a Mulligan celebration. The celebration band plays 4-6pm. Looking forward to seeing all of you Saturday morning.
