IF FINANCES ALLOW

We will endeavour to make the pro division player payout at least NZD$1000 despite the PDGA C-Tier status of this event requiring no payout. (see the table on page 19 https://www.pdga.com/files/2025_international_program_guide_updated_061825.pdf )

IF FINANCES ALLOW

The amateur player voucher payout will also continue to be at least NZD$1000 despite the C-Tier status of this event requiring no payout to amateurs (as per PDGA International Program Guide above).

Please note that the 'payouts' are calculated in proportion to the number of players in your division so in some cases ,when there are only a few players in a division, we may only 'pay out' first place.

You will notice we are now charging the same price for pros and amateurs in order to cover the costs of both of the above mentioned 'payouts' with the amateur divisions also receiving a $25 value player pack.

A note from TD Martin Galley

As the Tournament Director of this and over 25 disc golf tournaments in the past 13 years, I do very much enjoy organising and running these events. However, in recent times there seems to be a growing tendency for players to leave before the official prizegiving ceremony has begun.

I'd like to share some thoughts about what I consider to be the importance of attending prizegiving for all players and those involved in the tournament.

I believe that attending the prizegiving ceremony at a disc golf tournament is about more than just collecting awards. I consider it a meaningful event for players, organisers, and supporters alike. Here are several reasons why I think your presence matters:

Celebrating Achievement
- Recognises the hard work, skill, and dedication of all participants.
- Provides winners with the chance to be acknowledged in front of their peers.

Building Community
- Strengthens bonds among players, volunteers, and spectators.
- Allows everyone to support one another and share in the spirit of our great game and sport.

Appreciating Organisers and Sponsors
- Shows gratitude for the effort put in by organisers, volunteers, and sponsors who make the event possible.
- Demonstrates that the contributions of the wider community are valued and appreciated.

Encouraging Sportsmanship
- Sets a positive example for others, especially newer players, about graciousness in both victory and defeat.
- Promotes respect, humility, and the sporting values that disc golf upholds.

Closing the Event on a High Note
- Provides closure and a sense of celebration at the end of the tournament.
- Allows for memorable moments and photo opportunities that make the event more special.

Fostering Future Participation
- Inspires more people to play, volunteer, or sponsor future tournaments.
- Highlights the welcoming and supportive nature of the disc golf community.

PLEASE NOTE trophies and prizes will only be given out at the prizegiving ceremony. If you cannot attend then the responsibility is yours to collect any trophies and or other prizes after the prizegiving ceremony is complete.

I do believe that attending the prizegiving is a meaningful way to contribute to the positive, friendly and inclusive atmosphere that characterises our great game and sport. Your presence helps celebrate achievements, build lasting friendships, and ensure everyone feels recognised and valued.

Myself and the Moonbase XI organising committee very much look forward to hosting you all in the Mackenzie Basin.

Warm regards,

Martin Galley
