Hello everyone!
We are excited to bring you Milo Madness, presented by CE Discs and Top Flight Disc Golf! We are only 1 week away from this event, and we cannot wait to see everyone out at the course! Enclosed in this email will be the official players guide and players meeting.
The schedule for the upcoming week:
Tuesday: We are adjusting baskets to their proper tournament locations. Tournament layout will be in by 4pm Tuesday. We will also be creating a udisc layout and map for our 21 hole layout, with arrows on every hole directing you to the next hole's tee. This will also be available once we are done at Milo on Tuesday.
Wednesday Evening - Hole assignments will be posted on the PDGA website for all divisions. We are playing 21 holes, so make sure to budget some time to get to your hole on Sunday!
Thursday at 2pm - This is the cutoff for anyone who needs to drop out of the tournament, who wants a full refund. After this point if you drop out, unless someone else fills your spot in time before the event, we can only give a partial refund.
Other Things to Know:
All hole rules will be in the player's guide that will be available at check in. We have also attached a copy at the bottom of this email. Refer to the players guide for info on OB, or anything else (both rounds we are playing the same layout). You can send me an email if you need clarification, but everything should be on the guide.
We also want to note in advance that this will be a long day. We plan to start the event on time, and hope to keep as close to our schedule as possible. All divisions will be playing from pro tee pads. We need to be conscientious of time, during both rounds. It is crucial that all groups start a clock immediately when looking for a disc (even if you don't see a group behind you)!
We will have a few water jugs throughout the course. There are also a few water spickets and fountains near a few of the bathrooms. But, please make sure to bring an ample supply of water, so that everyone is safe. It is supposed to be pretty hot again this weekend. Also if you, or someone you know has an extra water jug that they would be willing to lend for this event, please reach out to me. We appreciate it!
Hole 1 of this event is the Philo hole. Tournament central will be located on the other side of the parking lot near hole 1. We recommend players park in a place that does not obstruct any of the holes on the course. Specifically, please avoid parking right next to hole 3's fairway, as many tee shots are thrown over the parking lot.
All pro payouts will be done via PayPal. All amateurs will receive a players pack containing shirt, disc, and Innova towel. There will also be scrip payout to top finishers in all Am divisions. This scrip can be used at both CE Discs and Top Flight's booth near tournament central.
SCORING:
All groups will be using live scoring as the primary scoring technique for this event. Connection can be up and down at Milo, but you only need to sign in and begin your round, to be able to complete your entire round with the live. We will have backup paper scorecards for any group that would prefer one.
Go to
www.pdga.com/score
Type in milo21 as the password
Look up your PDGA number to sign in
At the end of the round all players need to confirm the score
Make sure to submit the scores after players have confirmed their scores. This step can be easily missed or skipped, so double check that you have entered yours.
A second player will need to keep a paper scorecard or UDISC scorecard. The new PDGA guidelines require every group to keep two forms of scoring to prevent errors. We don’t need anything other than the live scoring to be turned in. The second scoring method is just to make sure the live scoring scores are accurate.
SPONSORS:
Thanks to CE Discs and Top Flight Disc Golf for being our presenting sponsors for this event!
CE Discs will be on site at the event. CE Discs has a large range of used and new discs from all manufacturers. The large variety is pretty nice, especially if you are not sure exactly what disc you are looking for. Amateur scrip can be spent at CE Discs's table as well as Top Flight's.
Top Flight Disc Golf will have hats and shirts on sale at tournament central, as well as discs. Amateur scrip can be spent on these items.
Also, a big thanks must be given to everyone who sponsored a tee sign! This has helped us reach the added cash of $1100 for this event!
All of this information will also be posted on the Facebook page. Please let Zach or I know if you have any other questions regarding this event.
Good luck to everyone, see you all on Sunday!
