I really want to compete in this event and support Michael. But I am trying hard to collect enough points for an invite to AM Worlds next year in MA-40. Will MA1 points count towards that?

Points are points no matter what division you play in. There was a huge discussion about this on FB in the Discgolf debate group.

What you want are B tiers with some good sized divisions.
