As far as Covid protocol for the tournament, we will be following requirements in line with the state. The IN mask mandate has been extended until the end of March. Players, volunteers, caddies, and guests of the players coming to watch them must wear a mask when checking in/registering, when around the merchandise, during the awards, and whenever 6ft of social distancing cannot be achieved. Please keep your mask with you while at the park in case these scenarios arise. I would also like to men ... more

Thank you to everyone who came out to the tournament today at Maxton Park. Duane's BBQ truck really hit the spot for lunch. Our team of volunteers really made the event run smooth! A special Thank You goes out to Bob Brewer and Mike Casey. They made a sizeable disc donation which allowed me to donate not only to the school, but also a small box of discs for the parks department employees to use with their families. Total, 27 discs were donated to the parks dept and 2 portable baskets with over 150 discs went to Eastside.

We really appreciate everything this tournament did for the community. Stoked to see what fundraiser comes next!

Every player registered for the Maxton Park tournament will need to check in the morning of the tournament so we know you are there. Check in time is from 8:30-9:30. We will have a players meeting at 9:40, so please do not be late to check in. A BBQ food truck will be there for lunch. Make sure to bring your face mask with you and use it during check in, when looking at the merchandise, and whenever 6ft of social distancing cannot be achieved. I am excited for Butler, hosting their first tournament at Maxton!

The locals have set up a BBQ food truck to be at the tournament. This could give you the option to not have to leave for the short lunch break.

Do you know what discs you are looking for most for donation? I have a few options. Wondering what the biggest need is!

At last look, we needed more putters or drivers. Bob Brewer just dropped off a bunch of discs that he and Mike Casey donated to the cause, so I am not sure where we stand at the moment. Thank you!

All of Maxton's tee signs are installed now. All but 2 of the directional signs are up. All of the baskets now have numbers too.

Sweet well done! I'm very proud of what this course has become! One pf my favorites within an hour of the house!

Brian Spaulding   March 10, 2021 at 1:33am

Course is looking great! Butler Parks dept doing a great job out there.

Eric "Downtown" Brown   March 12, 2021 at 4:57pm

I'm really impressed with Butler Parks dept . They keep that park beautiful and well maintained. What a great team to partner with!! I was up there last month and they stopped laying mulch, so i could play through!

I moved 11s basket to the "B" position for the tournament. The rest of the course will be in the "A" positions for the tournament. I did this because kicks off trees on hole 12 could go towards 11s A pin and put players in danger.

Thanks

You bet. I considered mixing it up at the lunch break to some B pins, but I don't want people to get confused, it's a little bit of work to make that happen, and with this being Maxton's first tournament...I want it to run fast, smooth, and fun.

Logan Conley   March 9, 2021 at 5:41pm

great! We did that in Kendallville and it made for ALOT more work! Im excited to play this course!

Typically no player pack for fundraisers.

Brian Wilson   March 8, 2021 at 3:35pm

No - entry fee will go towards the school and payouts.

I do not take cashless pre-reg Eric. You could either pre-reg on here or give cash to Brian Wilson, Dave Walters, or myself.

Eric "Downtown" Brown   February 7, 2021 at 5:12pm

Understandable! Thanks for the quick response! Good cause, good fun, good course!

Jake Wallace    January 18, 2021 at 3:30pm
