Welcome to the 2025 Kanza Krush presented by Maverick Disc Golf!
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE EMAIL. IT CONTAINS INFORMATION YOU NEED FOR THE TOURNAMENT.
If you are receiving this email because you used your email when signing up another player for the event, please forward this info to that player.
DIVISIONS / DATES:
Everyone is playing two rounds on Saturday, August 9th on a shotgun start. Round one hole assignments have been posted at link below.
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/88838
Both pools will start at Kanza Park in the morning with the second round at Forest Park in the afternoon.
LATE WITHDRAWAL / NO-SHOW
At this point, it is too late to receive a refund. However, if you notify me at 785-764-2229 prior to tee time, you will still receive your player pack for an Amatuer. It’s not required, but I appreciate the heads up. No call, no show forfeits your player pack and entry fee.
To cancel, text or call your name and division, with a comment you are canceling to 785-764-2229.
PARKING -
Kanza Park - while I did not get express permission this year, in the past it has never been a problem to park in the business lots near Hole 18 or the parking lot to the south of the road right before pulling into the park.
Forest Park - there are various spots to park throughout the course. I would recommend parking near the baseball diamonds. Please do not park along any of the fairways as sometimes players like to throw over the out-of-bounds lines.
RESTROOMS
Kanza Park has a portable restroom.
Forest Park has public restrooms that will be open.
CHECK-IN
Check-in is from 7:30 am - 8:15 am at Kanza Park’s shelter. All players, Pro and Am, need to check in. If you don’t check in, I will presume you are a No Call, No Show and you may be scratched from the event. Tee time for round one will be 8:30 AM.
SCORING
We will be using the PDGA digital scoring system. (This is not Udisc). To access it, go to pdga.com/score. Enter in the password, then your last name or PDGA number, and the card will pull up. I will have paper scorecards as a backup. You can also use udisc as a backup. However, to submit the scores, it needs to be done through the PDGA scoring system.
Password: kanza
CADDY BOOK
Hole lengths, pars, and OB rules are listed in the PDGA app while you are keeping score. They are also attached to this email.
COURSE CONDITIONS
Both courses have been mowed well and are dry.
AMATEUR PLAYER PACKS
Amateurs: All am's will receive a Maverick Disc Golf cap. These are very nice; much better than I’ve had before. There are two options and three sizes available.
WATER
While there will be at least one water cooler at the course near tournament central, I fully expect they will go dry at some point. They will be refilled as soon as possible, but you need to be prepared to bring enough water for yourself. The water on the course is a back-up. Forest Park also has water spigots throughout the course.
IF YOU NEED TO WITHDRAW
If you decide for any reason that you don’t or can’t play the second round, please tell Rob, the Tournament Director. This is crucial as it will affect others on how the second round is organized.
LUNCH BREAK / ROUND 2
We will have an approximately 1 hour lunch break after the last card is completed before starting round 2. You will be moving to the other course for the second round. You can find your hole assignment and tee time for the second round at the pdga event page:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/88838
ACE / CTP FUND
If you paid into the ace fund during registration you are included in this. If you didn’t, you can sign up when you check in if you want to. If neither applies, skip to next section.
Thank you for participating into the Ace Fund. With all Maverick DG events, the Ace fund is paid out as large ticket items and not as cash. This is one of the ways MavDG is ‘maverick’ and it helps to pay for tournament expenses. I determine the payout items so that what is given out is approximately 150% in value to what was paid in so both the winner and the tournament benefits.
Each pool will have their own Ace Funds and the CTPs will be done on the course you finished at. This will help to facilitate the CTP throw off as quickly as possible and if you did not win additional payout (next section) you can leave the event.
PRIZES:
Max Disctance XF30 Carbon Fiber retriever, retail $165
GRIPeq Ultimate Duffel, retail $149
MVP Disc Station VI - 6 shelf disc shelves, retail $140
Please note: If there is a tie for first place in your division, we may start the CTP game before your playoff is done. I realize that this policy has changed in the past and I’m trying to be consistent with it. If you super duper rather play the CTP game than for the First Place Trophy, you can always forfeit the playoff. I would ask you though - why are you playing in a tournament if not to win the prize of First Place?
AWARDS / PAYOUTS
We will not have a formal awards ceremony. The awards will be given to the winner after the second round at the course you finish.
PRO PAYOUTS can be either a check picked up the same day, a check mailed to you, or PayPal Goods and Services (winner pays fees) based on what you chose during registration.
AM PAYOUTS have the choice of the following:
Redeemed at the Olathe store before the end of the year
Online code to be used at my webstore maverickdiscgolf.com. If you choose the webstore, it will charge you shipping and sales tax on what is beyond the payout code.
As a reminder, All Recreational Divisions and all Junior Divisions are player pack and trophy only with no additional payout.
PDGA POSTING
My goal is to have the 'official' results posted to the PDGA by Sunday evening, Aug. 10 so they will be included in the August’s rating update.
THANK YOU
I want to sincerely thank you for choosing to play in Maverick Disc Golf events, and particularly the Kanza Krush. If you are a first timer, I hope you enjoy it!
