Welcome to the 2024 KC Masters Peace presented by Innova
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE EMAIL. IT CONTAINS INFORMATION YOU NEED FOR THE TOURNAMENT.
If you are receiving this email because you used your email when signing up another player for the event, please forward this info to that player.
THANK YOU SPONSORS:
Thank you to Innova and of course Maverick Disc Golf.
DIVISIONS / DATES:
Most divisions will be playing two rounds on Saturday July 29th. The MA70 division will only play the morning round. Both rounds are on a shotgun start. Sunday’s round one hole assignments have been posted at this link below this link:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/76721
LATE WITHDRAWAL / NO-SHOW
At this point, it is too late to receive a refund. However, if you notify me at 785-764-2229 prior to Round One’s tee time, you will still receive your player pack for an Amatuer. It’s not required, but I appreciate the heads up. No call, no show forfeits your player pack and entry fee.
To cancel, text or call your name and division, with a comment you are canceling to 785-764-2229.
PARKING -
There is plenty of room to park around the course. Please use the actual parking lots. You will likely get a ticket or be towed if you are not parked in a parking lot.
RESTROOMS
There are toilets on the far side of the parking lot near Hole 1 and also along the back side across the street from Tee #9.
CHECK-IN
Check-in is from 8:15 am - 8:45 am at the course. I will be set up at Shelter 1 which is near Fairway Hole 7.
All players, Pro and Am, need to check in. If you don’t check in, I will presume you are a No Call, No Show and you may be scratched from the event. Tee time for round one will be 9:00 AM. After you check in you can drive to any of the other parking lots.
SCORING
For 2024 the PDGA has implemented a new rule where all players (or their caddy) have to take score for all of the players on the card and submit that scorecard. It’s best to use the PDGA digital scoring system. (This is not Udisc). To access it, go to pdga.com/score. Enter in the password, then your last name or PDGA number, and the card will pull up. I will also have paper scorecards if you prefer to use that instead. We will not use, nor accept, Udisc as a scoring option.
Password: KCM2024
CADDY BOOK
Hole lengths, pars, and OB rules are listed in the PDGA app while you are keeping score. I've also attached a screenshot of this information.
In general, on or over any road or sidewalk is out of bounds. You play from last point your disc was in bounds. This includes the sidewalk for Hole 4. The sidewalk that you cross for Hole 6 is safe, but the sidewalk behind and right of the basket is out of bounds. We are not playing tall grass as out of bounds, however, if you lose your disc you need to return to your last lie with a one-stroke penalty.
COURSE CONDITIONS
There are no known adverse course conditions.
AMATEUR PLAYER PACKS
EVERYBODY (PRO AND AM) GETS A PLAYER PACK ITEM.
The item that all players will receive is a Glencairn whiskey glass. If you don’t drink whiskey, then it’s a really fancy juice glass.
All Amateurs will also receive an Innova tournament stamped disc.
For the Amateur player pack discs, you get your choice of one of the following:
Luster Champion Teebird3 - stable fairway
GStar Charger - stable distance
Star Alien - neutral-stable midrange
Star Stingray - understable midrange
Star Sidewinder - understable driver
You can find descriptions of the discs here:

WATER
While there will be at least one water cooler on the course near tournament central, I fully expect they will go dry at some point. They will be refilled as soon as possible, but you need to be prepared to bring enough water for yourself. The water on the course is a back-up.
IF YOU NEED TO WITHDRAW
If you decide for any reason that you don’t or can’t play the second round, please tell Rob, the Tournament Director. This is crucial as it will affect others on how the second round is organized.
LUNCH BREAK / ROUND 2
We will have an approximately 1 hour lunch break after the last card is completed before starting round 2. It is quite possible that you will start on a different hole for Round 2. You can find your hole assignment and tee time for the second round at the pdga event page:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/76721
ACE / CTP FUND
If you paid into the ace fund during registration you are included in this. If you didn’t, you can sign up when you check in if you want to. If neither applies, skip to next section.
Thank you for participating into the Ace Fund. With all Maverick DG events, the Ace fund is paid out as large ticket items and not as cash. This is one of the ways MavDG is ‘maverick’ and it helps to pay for tournament expenses. I determine the payout items so that what is given out is higher than what was paid in so both the winner and the tournament benefits.
PRIZES:
Innova EZ Target basket ($180)
InZone XXL Retriever ($45)
Please note: If there is a tie for first place in your division, we may start the CTP game before your playoff is done. If you super duper rather play the CTP game than for the First Place Trophy, you can always forfeit the playoff. I would ask you though - why are you playing in a tournament if not to win the prize of First Place?
AWARDS / PAYOUTS
To decrease the amount of congregation we will not have a formal awards ceremony. The awards will be given to the winner after the second round as soon as it is obvious who won.
PRO PAYOUTS can be either a check picked up the same day, a check mailed to you, a check picked up at the shop, or PayPal Goods and Services (winner pays fees) based on what you chose during registration.
AM PAYOUTS have the choice of the following:
Redeemed at the Olathe store before the end of the year.
Online code to be used at my webstore maverickdiscgolf.com. If you choose the webstore, it will charge you shipping and sales tax on what is beyond the payout code.
PDGA POSTING
My goal is to have the 'official' results posted to the PDGA by Monday evening, 3/25.
THANK YOU
I want to sincerely thank you for choosing to play in Maverick Disc Golf events, and particularly the KC Masters Peace. If you are a first timer, I hope you enjoy it!
