The following was emailed to all registered players:Welcome to the 2023 KC Masters Peace presented by Discraft
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE EMAIL. IT CONTAINS INFORMATION YOU NEED FOR THE TOURNAMENT.
If you are receiving this email because you used your email when signing up another player for the event, please forward this info to that player.
THANK YOU SPONSORS:
Thank you to Discraft. Their support allowed us to have a nice player pack for the amateurs and a little bit of added cash to the pro purse.
DIVISIONS / DATES:
Most divisions will be playing two rounds on Saturday July 29th. The MA70 division will only play the morning round. Both rounds are on a shotgun start. Saturday’s Round one hole assignments will be posted at link below this afternoon.

LATE WITHDRAWAL / NO-SHOW
At this point, it is too late to receive a refund. However, if you notify me at 785-764-2229 prior to Round One’s tee time, you will still receive your player pack for an Amatuer. It’s not required, but I appreciate the heads up. No call, no show forfeits your player pack and entry fee.
To cancel, text or call your name and division, with a comment you are canceling to 785-764-2229.
PARKING -
There is plenty of room to park around the course. Please use the actual parking lots. You will likely get a ticket or be towed if not in the parking lot.
RESTROOMS
There are toilets on the far side of the parking lot near Hole 1 and also along the back side across the street from Tee #9.
CHECK-IN
Check-in is from 7:15 am - 8:00 am at the course. I will be set up near hole one (not at the shelter). All players, Pro and Am, need to check in. If you don’t check in, I will presume you are a No Call, No Show and you may be scratched from the event. Tee time for round one will be 8:15 AM. After you check in you can drive to the parking lot near Basket 7 if you wish.
SCORING
We will be using the PDGA digital scoring system. (This is not Udisc). To access it, go to pdga.com/score. Enter in the password, then your last name or PDGA number, and the card will pull up. I will have paper scorecards as a backup. You can also use udisc as a backup. However, to submit the scores, it needs to be done through the PDGA scoring system.
Saturday Password: KCM2023
CADDY BOOK
Hole lengths, pars, and OB rules are listed in the PDGA app while you are keeping score. I've also attached a screenshot of this information.
In general, on or over any road or sidewalk is out of bounds. You play from last point your disc was in bounds. This includes the sidewalk for Hole 4. The sidewalk that you cross for Hole 6 is safe, but the sidewalk behind and right of the basket is out of bounds. We are not playing tall grass as out of bounds, however, if you lose your disc you need to return to your last lie with a one-stroke penalty.
COURSE CONDITIONS
There are no known adverse course conditions.
AMATEUR PLAYER PACKS
All Amateurs will receive an Discraft tournament stamped disc and a Discraft shoulder bag.
For the Amateur player pack discs, you get your choice of one of the following:
ESP Buzzz
ESP Heat
ESP Schorch
Z Line Buzzz SS
Z Line Zone
You can find descriptions of the discs here:
https://www.team.discraft.com/the-discs
WATER
While there will be at least one water cooler on the course near tournament central, I fully expect they will go dry at some point. They will be refilled as soon as possible, but you need to be prepared to bring enough water for yourself. The water on the course is a back-up.
IF YOU NEED TO WITHDRAW
If you decide for any reason that you don’t or can’t play the second round, please tell Rob, the Tournament Director. This is crucial as it will affect others on how the second round is organized.
LUNCH BREAK / ROUND 2
We will have an approximately 1 hour lunch break after the last card is completed before starting round 2. You will be moving to the other course for the second round. It is quite possible that Round 2 tee time will not be the same for each pool. You can find your hole assignment and tee time for the second round at the pdga event page:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/66590
ACE / CTP FUND
If you paid into the ace fund during registration you are included in this. If you didn’t, you can sign up when you check in if you want to. If neither applies, skip to next section.
Thank you for participating into the Ace Fund. With all Maverick DG events, the Ace fund is paid out as large ticket items and not as cash. This is one of the ways MavDG is ‘maverick’ and it helps to pay for tournament expenses. I determine the payout items so that what is given out is higher than what was paid in so both the winner and the tournament benefits.
PRIZES:
Axiom Pro basket ($155)
Prodigy Disc Retriever ($36)
Please note: If there is a tie for first place in your division, we may start the CTP game before your playoff is done. If you super duper rather play the CTP game than for the First Place Trophy, you can always forfeit the playoff. I would ask you though - why are you playing in a tournament if not to win the prize of First Place?
AWARDS / PAYOUTS
To decrease the amount of congregation we will not have a formal awards ceremony. The awards will be given to the winner after the second round as soon as it is obvious who won.
PRO PAYOUTS can be either a check picked up the same day, a check mailed to you, or PayPal Goods and Services (winner pays fees) based on what you chose during registration.
AM PAYOUTS have the choice of the following:
Redeemed at the Olathe store before the end of the year
Online code to be used at my webstore maverickdiscgolf.com. If you choose the webstore, it will charge you shipping and sales tax on what is beyond the payout code.
PDGA POSTING
My goal is to have the 'official' results posted to the PDGA by Sunday evening, 7/30.
THANK YOU
I want to sincerely thank you for choosing to play in Maverick Disc Golf events, and particularly the KC Masters Peace. If you are a first timer, I hope you enjoy it!
