Everyone is playing two rounds on either Saturday June 10th or Sunday June 11th depending on the day you signed up for. Both rounds are on a shotgun start. Saturday’s Round one hole assignments will be posted at link below before Friday afternoon.

LATE WITHDRAWAL / NO-SHOW

At this point, it is too late to receive a refund. However, if you notify me at 785-764-2229 prior to Round One’s tee time, you will still receive your player pack for an Amatuer. It’s not required, but I appreciate the heads up. No call, no show forfeits your player pack and entry fee.

To cancel, text or call your name and division, with a comment you are canceling to 785-764-2229.

PARKING -

Please use the actual parking lots at the course. Do not park along the streets.

RESTROOMS

There are flush toilets within walking distance of the parking lot.



CHECK-IN

Check-in is from 8:00 am - 8:30 am at the course. I will be set up near hole one (not at the shelter). All players, Pro and Am, need to check in. If you don’t check in, I will presume you are a No Call, No Show and you may be scratched from the event. Tee time for round one will be 8:45 AM.


SCORING

We will be using the PDGA digital scoring system. (This is not Udisc). To access it, go to pdga.com/score. Enter in the password, then your last name or PDGA number, and the card will pull up. I will have paper scorecards as a backup. You can also use udisc as a backup. However, to submit the scores, it needs to be done through the PDGA scoring system.

CLARIFICATION FOR HOLE 16:
16 Blue Long right by water, 451’ Par 4. Weather permitting, an OB line will be painted Friday evening. If line is not present, then ‘surrounded by water’ is the rule, meaning if there is water between your disc and dry land, it is ‘in the water’ and OB.


Weather permitting, I will paint an OB line at the tall grass to delineate what is OB and what is not. If it’s raining and I’m not able to paint the line, then OB is defined as ‘surrounded by water’. Because the shore line of this pond is not always clear, ‘surrounded by water’ means if there is water between your disc and a perpendicular line to dry ground, you are OB. Your disc may be held off of the water by the tall grass, but if there is clearly water beneath it, or between it and shore, you are OB. Ideally, there will be a painted OB line so this is not an issue.

There are no known adverse course conditions.

AMATEUR PLAYER PACKS

All Amateurs will receive an Innova tournament stamped disc. All Advanced level (MA1, MA40, ETC.) will have just the one disc and a larger payout. All amateur divisions Intermediate and below, will receive an additional Innova disc (with various old tournament stamps and valued from $16 to $19) or a $15 voucher to be used at Maverick’s. The voucher is redeemable in-person only (i.e. not convertible to online) and expires July 31.

For the Amateur player pack discs, you get your choice of one of the following, all Innova of course.

WATER

While there will be at least one water cooler on the course near tournament central, I fully expect they will go dry at some point. They will be refilled as soon as possible, but you need to be prepared to bring enough water for yourself. The water on the course is a back-up.


IF YOU NEED TO WITHDRAW

If you decide for any reason that you don’t or can’t play the second round, please tell Rob, the Tournament Director. This is crucial as it will affect others on how the second round is organized.

LUNCH BREAK / ROUND 2

We will have an approximately 1 hour lunch break after the last card is completed before starting round 2. You will be moving to the other course for the second round. It is quite possible that Round 2 tee time will not be the same for each pool. You can find your hole assignment and tee time for the second round at the pdga event page:

ACE / CTP FUND

If you paid into the ace fund during registration you are included in this. If you didn’t, you can sign up when you check in if you want to. If neither applies, skip to next section.

Thank you for participating into the Ace Fund. With all Maverick DG events, the Ace fund is paid out as large ticket items and not as cash. This is one of the ways MavDG is ‘maverick’ and it helps to pay for tournament expenses. I determine the payout items so that what is given out is higher than what was paid in so both the winner and the tournament benefits.

Each day will have their own Ace Funds and the CTPs will be done when Round 2 finishes.

PRIZES: (prizes are based on what was paid in for each pool but exceeds 150% of what was paid in)

Please note: If there is a tie for first place in your division, we may start the CTP game before your playoff is done. If you super duper rather play the CTP game than for the First Place Trophy, you can always forfeit the playoff. I would ask you though - why are you playing in a tournament if not to win the prize of First Place?

AWARDS / PAYOUTS

To decrease the amount of congregation we will not have a formal awards ceremony. The awards will be given to the winner after the second round as soon as it is obvious who won.

PRO PAYOUTS can be either a check picked up the same day, a check mailed to you, or PayPal Goods and Services (winner pays fees) based on what you chose during registration.

AM PAYOUTS have the choice of the following:


Redeemed at the Olathe store before the end of the year
Online code to be used at my webstore maverickdiscgolf.com. If you choose the webstore, it will charge you shipping and sales tax on what is beyond the payout code.

As a reminder, All Recreational, Novice and Junior are player pack and trophy only with no additional payout. (MA3, FA3, MA4, FA4, and all Juniors)

We play rain or shine.  However, if there is lightning within 10 miles, we will delay play until 30 minutes have passed from the last lightning event.  
To start each round, there will be 2 short blasts of an air horn two minutes before we start.  At start time, there will be one longer blast.  If there is a delay, there will be 3 short blasts, followed by additional 3 blasts as needed.

If you hear the weather warning, mark your lie.  Use a stick or rock if possible in case water or wind washes your marker away.  Seek shelter either inside of your car or a shelter.  There are two shelters adjacent to the course, but both are being used today.  However, if there is lightning, you may need to join the parties.  There is also a bathroom that can be used.
Once the last lightning event is over, we'll wait 30 minutes to resume using the same 2 blasts then 1 blast.  I will post the restart time as a comment on dgscene (and email if possible).

ROUND ONE PRIZE: If you have the Hot Round of your whole division (not your card, but the whole division) you will get a Hot Round mini. They are not much, only a mini, but the only way you can get one is by having the Hot Round, so it’s kind of cool. See the TD if you won the whole division for the first round only. (Requires 2 or more for the division to qualify)


ROUND TWO PRIZE: Win your card, win a prize. The prizes include various items such as koozies, playing cards, sticker sheets, etc.

Reminder, we will not be adjusting the waitlist or registration limit. There is a hard cap of 72 players per day. If you are on the waitlist for Saturday, I strongly recommend you consider playing on Sunday as there is still room (for now).

For Saturday, the pool totals do not equal the maximum 72 players by design. I created pools for Saturday to hopefully insure that Pros and Ams do not get placed on the same card and to create separate wait lists for Pros and Ams. On the Am side, those divisions could possibly have some overlap for each pool, hence the pools not equaling the total limit.
