About this tournament
1 round of play
Registration fees
- $15 for men
- $10 for women
Purpose
- The purpose of this event is two-fold.
- First, the event serves as a "warm-up" for players ages 50+ prior to the Maryland Senior Olympics (it's believed the MSO is June 28 in Emmitsburg).
- Second, the goal is to help players ages 40-49 get used to playing in connection with the Maryland Senior Olympics for when they reach age 50.
- This event has no affiliation or partnership with the Maryland Senior Olympics.
- The Allegany County Disc Golf Club supports the mission of all state-level Senior Olympics events as well as the National Senior Games.
Timeline
- See schedule (at left) for estimated timeline.
- Shotgun start at 1 p.m.
- Any changes in the timeline will be communicated in the pre-tournament email to be sent on Saturday, May 23.
Layout / Format
- One round of singles play.
- 18 holes (9 short, 9 long)
- 18 holes (18 shorts) for divisions 60+, and for 15J and below.
Optional doubles round
- There will be an optional doubles round after singles round awards.
- The plan is to do 18 holes from the long tees
- We'll do random draw for partners (avoiding "super teams")
- Cost is included in event entry fee
- Format will be true/pure alternate shot.
PDGA rules apply
- This is a one-round, sanction-free event.
- Official rules of disc golf apply.
Eligibility / Divisions
- Players will compete in the age group based on their age as of 12/31/2026.
- Those 39 but turning 40 in 2026 are eligible to compete.
- There are no residency requirements; players living outside of Maryland are eligible to compete.
- We will have a division even if there's only 1 person in that division.
- Players who turn 39 or younger in 2026 can play in either the Men's Open Division or the Women's Open Division.
- Questions? Email [email redacted] or phone/text 301-338-4533.
Divisions for I-68 DGT purposes
- Players will choose their "normal" division at check-in with TD
- For example, Matthew, Chet and Kevin each usually compete in MA4
- This will help produce two list of results: MD Masters, and I-68 DGT
Awards
- Awards in male and female categories in five-year age groups.
- Medals for places 1-3.
- Ribbons for places 4-8.
- Please note that awards will be ordered on/about May 10. Entries after the awards order date could receive something other than the intended medal or ribbon.
Scoring
- One person per group is required to keep score.
- All participants are to have a uDisc account (the free version is fine).
- Players MUST ensure their "display name" is their true first and last name ("Bill" for William is fine, but "Slimedgy" in place of "Noah" is not).
- Players should bring their own paper scorecards if they want to use that method.
Card requests
- Card requests will not be granted.
- Players will be grouped within their age divisions as much as possible.
- $15 for men
- $10 for women
