Thanks to the Motor City Chain Gang for another awesome event, and a huge thanks to Chris and John for adding 2 holes so us slackers that didn't pre-reg could still compete. Special shout-out to crazy old dude on hole 1 for the best disc golf rage I've ever seen, and for keepin it classy.

Wow!!! I don't even know where to begin here. What an absolute amazing turn out we had for the first sanctioned Motor City Chain Gang event of the year! We were hoping we might get 60 people, instead we had to open two more holes accommodating 87 players!!! Which is the largest turnout the club has ever had in the 11 years this tournament has been run. Way to go guys, that is seriously impressive.

I know we tried a new form of CTP this time by having each card win a prize, and like you w ... more

Chris, we all agreed that next time we absoultly need signs saying there is a tourney going on. Im not sure if we could close the course, but that would help. I think most of the problems we ran into were a result of people not knowing it was a tourney. I think a general sign explaining to casuals w ... more

Abbie, I agree with you and I know the club does have a sign that says a tournament is in progress. I know John talked to a few casuals that were very nice and had no problem playing the back 9 while the tournament was going on. As far as closing the park, there is a pretty steep fee in doing so. I did hear that there was some unique individuals out there.

Layout has been shoveled and salted. Hold 8 is going to be iffy on the longs. But there was much salt put down and I will be checking on it Friday most likely. Big thanks the Mat Stivers for hooking us up with some powerful salt, and to Jay Benienda, Mike Moreno, Jason Riberas for being out there helping break up ice and carry 50lbs buckets around the course.

Brandon Redmond   March 9, 2013 at 11:28pm

You should have seen us...lugging buckets all over and 2 flat edge shovels. First round of shorts took us a lil over 3 hours lol

I know everyone already knows this, BUT the day of the tournament is day light savings time. Which means we are all LOSING one hour of sleep. Please don't be "that" guy and think your showing up an hour early, when actual your late.

Tee pads 1 - 12 are clear by Jon & I today but 8,10, and 12 are in need of salt. And 13 through 18 need some help

Kevin and Jon THANK YOU!!! that is very kind and generous of both of you! Brandon and your crew if you do get the rest done today, that would be magnificent! I know not only do I thank all of you, but everyone else.

Jason "raffle Bagger" Phillips   March 6, 2013 at 7:55am

yeah thanks guys!

Brandon Redmond   March 7, 2013 at 12:39am

The rest is done. Left the course with a good layer of salt on all pads in the layout. Hoping that causes this snow we're getting not to stick. I plan on checking on them friday.

The tournament will play holes 1-18, leaving 19-27 for any casual play. As far as what divisions are playing here is my thought.
Pro's - Long both rounds
MAM- Long/Short
MA1 - Long both rounds
MA2 - Long/Short
MA3, and the remain divisions - Short both rounds
