For anyone not able to make the check in event on Friday night : All AMS except for MA1 (Advanced) will be able to check in and pick up their player packs at Clay DGC on Saturday. MA1 can pick up player packs at Clay DGC on Sunday or at the Player Party on Saturday night at Cahaba Brewing Co.

Send me an email to [email redacted] and we can talk about it.

Will there be a safari 9 at Clay this year? I would love to watch the MPO's battle it out.

Ben Swam   June 11, 2017 at 11:41pm

No, there will be no final 9 for this year's event.

David Muntean Jr.    June 7, 2017 at 2:40pm

Ben, Thank you for being a TD who is uber-responsive to everyone's questions and being informative. An excellent TD can make the difference, and is one of the reasons I'm making the trip again this year. It's obvious that you're putting in the time & effort!

Thanks Dave! Nice of you to say that. Glad that we will be seeing you again this year!

Pool C/D Inverness and Clay - Red (Short) Pads (unless there is only one tee pad)

Ben Swam   May 31, 2017 at 12:01pm

I have added this information to the About page

Corey Godwin   May 31, 2017 at 1:12pm

My only problem is I don't want to be on Int waitlist and then adv fills up and I don't get to play. Thanks for oI'm your time.

Alex Moser   May 31, 2017 at 4:54pm

Thanks again!! And I have one more question, do we get to use golf carts for lake view? Thanks again

Ben Swam   May 31, 2017 at 8:58pm

Golf carts will not be available for the rounds played at Lakeview.

Jonathan Fargo    May 25, 2017 at 10:51pm

Any word on what the player pack discs are, or is that a surprise?

Ben Swam   May 25, 2017 at 7:31pm

Definitely a surprise!

Jonathan Fargo   May 25, 2017 at 8:18pm

Crud. Well the stamp looks stellar anyway.

Ben Swam   May 26, 2017 at 10:51am

Thanks for saying so! Charlie Mathews is the graphic artist. If you ever need something created, he is definitely the guy to talk to.

Just a question about what division I should sign up for. It's my first tournament and I am over 50 but below 60, my game is sounds close to the intermediate division, if I putt well. Should I sign up for the lntermediate or Grandmasters?

From one Grand Master to another, you would have more fun playing in The Grandmaster division. My husband Henry, agrees.

Scotty Wells   May 23, 2017 at 11:56am

Thanks for the info..... I did sign up for the GM Division, looking forward to being there.....

Robyn Tindall   May 24, 2017 at 2:19pm

Ben puts on a fabulous tournament..

C J Mahaffey    May 14, 2017 at 7:06pm

I was wondering if someone isn't able to make it but is paid can someone pick up players pack for me?

Ben Swam   May 14, 2017 at 3:23pm

If we are full and there is a waitlist, no. If not, we should be able to work with you.

Russell Douglas    May 10, 2017 at 6:31pm

First Tournament and a few questions.

1. I see AM Player Pack and then the backpack, discs, glass and shirt listed. I am signed up for Novice (newer player) so does that division receive the same player pack?

2. Do we know what pin positions will be in play for Inverness yet? Having not played this course before I am hoping to get some practice rounds in and would love to play from the tournament tee position for Novice.

Thank you all for putting this on and looking forward to it.

1. AM = Amateur. Yes, Any player that is registered as an Amateur player will receive the same player pack.

Ben Swam   May 10, 2017 at 2:51pm

2. Pin locations/layouts will be announced over the next couple of weeks. Should give you plenty of time to practice. Thanks for your questions!

Paul Cloutier    April 19, 2017 at 3:12pm

So, Pool C/D plays one round on Saturday and two on Sunday?

Ben Swam   April 19, 2017 at 11:27am

Yes, that is correct.

Paul Cloutier   April 19, 2017 at 11:31am

Thank you

Harper Thompson    April 5, 2017 at 12:59pm

I have never played in Birmingham, but am looking forward to a great weekend. Any specific reason Clay Park has tee times other than to change things up and make it fun?

The elevation of the course makes it less than ideal for a shotgun start. The course is much more enjoyable when you start on hole 1.

David Klein   April 7, 2017 at 10:16am

AGREED! Excellent plan.

Joshua Hatley   May 19, 2017 at 12:28pm

Thank you so much for going this route Ben lol. Clay is an awesome yet very brutal course.
