Hi everyone, below is everything that you need to know for tomorrow's Madness @ Maiden Rock. There will be a quick players meeting at 8:45 to review these details and answer any questions.
I will be set up by 8:00 at the shelter. Check-in is not required.
Round 1 will start at 9:00.
Hole assignments have been posted on the event page (
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/69014).
We will be using PDGA Digital Scorecard as the official scorecard for this event. One player on each card will need to enter scores each round. If you are unfamiliar with this, the PDGA website has a tutorial at
https://www.pdga.com/help/tournament-management/official-hole-scoring#scorekeeping. It is simple and easy to use. Just go to pdga.com/score or use the PDGA app and type in our access code: maiden
A backup scorecard should also be kept for each group per PDGA guidelines. I will have paper scorecards that can be used. Otherwise UDisc or another PDGA scorecard is acceptable as well.
AFTER YOUR ROUND IS DONE EVERY PLAYER MUST CONFIRM THEIR SCORE ON THE PDGA SCORECARD PAGE. Please verify that the score is correct before confirming it on the app. If a score is incorrect and complete with the app the player will receive a 2 stroke penalty (same as the penalty for misadding your score on a paper card). If you have to play out a hole from a provisional shot or have a question about how to score a hole, come talk to me with your cardmates after the round before "completing" the scorecard. Using PDGA scoring will allow us to start the second round quicker and organize payouts faster.
Second round will start one hour from when the last card to finish is complete with their first round. The second round start time and your starting holes will be posted on the PDGA results page
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/69014 shortly after everyone has finished their first round. If you are ready to tee off one hour from when you finished, you won't be late. There will not be players meeting before the second round. You can also follow the Facebook event page for updates:

Layout:
Everyone is playing to the long baskets. MA3, MA4, MA50 and Female divisions will be playing the short tees. Everyone else is playing the long tees.
OBs:
OBs will be water, pavement (road, bike path; on or across), and the bunker. The gravel roads are not OB.
Ace Pool:
We are switching to an Optional $2 Ace Pool this season. If no one that pays into the ace pool for the event gets an ace, then the ace pool will carry over to the next event. If you are not sure if you signed up for the ace pool you should be able to check the email you received when you registered. If there are no aces in the final event of the season the ace pool will be added into the Gray Duck Tour Series payouts. The ace pool coming into this event is $182. This is a singular Ace Pool and will pay out regardless of the layout being played if it is hit.
Gray Duck Tour Series
This year we are trying something new. We are adding a season points series for the Amateur divisions. Here is the structure:
$1 of every AM entry goes to season payouts for the division that the player played in.
Event Points Calculation:
1st = 100 + (0.1 x players in division)
Everyone Else = 100 - ((place-1) * 30) / players in division
Total Season Points will be equal to the Top 7 events for each player in a division.
After the final event of the year the Prize pool value for each division will be equal to the total number of players that played in that division for each event combined.
The top 15% of each division's season points leaders will be paid out based on the payout calculator found here:
https://texasarmytrail.com/payout.aspx using the Payout to Lower Finishers set to +5.
Payouts for the Open division will be available in cash at the end of the day or via PayPal. If you choose PayPal, please contact me after you leave to provide the necessary information.
Payouts for AMs will be available onsite at the end of the day. Once everyone is finished with the second round, payouts will be posted on the disc golf scene event page
https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Madness_At_Maiden_Rock_2023. After payouts are posted you can redeem your credit with me, or you can save it to redeem at another one of my events this year or to spend at Gray Duck Disc Golf in Cottage Grove. Merchandise Credit earned at this event will expire 12/31/2023.
