Welcome to the MVP Space Race at Prairie Pass!

If you are receiving this email because you used your email when signing up another player for the event, please forward this info to that player.

DIVISIONS / DATES:

Everyone is playing one round on shotgun start, Friday, October 3rd. Hole assignments have been entered into Udisc. I will also have a ScoreBoard at check in that will show the hole assignments.

LATE WITHDRAWAL / NO-SHOW

It is past the cutoff to request a refund. If you cannot make it and notify me at 785-764-2229 prior to you tee off time, you will still receive your player pack. To cancel, text or call your name and division, with comment you are canceling to the tournament director Rob at 785-764-2229.

RESTROOMS

There is NOT restroom at the parking lot. Plan accordingly!

CHECK-IN

Check in with the Tournament Director (Rob) between 6:15 PM - 7:00 PM. I will be at the picnic table near the parking lot. Shotgun start tee time at 7:15 PM.


SCORING

We will be using Udisc to score the round. Only one person per card will need to score. I will have paper scorecards as a backup.

CADDY BOOK

We are using the Standard / Short layout. UDisc has the maps and there is also a map at the parking lot.

General Course Rules:

Parking lots, roads and sidewalks - on and beyond is OB. Whichever comes first.


COURSE CONDITIONS / INCLEMENT WEATHER

There are no known issues.

PLAYER PACKS

All players will receive the same two molds. ONLY these discs can be used. There shouldn’t be any need to bring any other discs. If you lose one, then you continue on with only one. I would recommend you write your name on the disc as soon as you get it as there will be 60 of them out there.


AT YOUR LAST HOLE

When you have finished your last hole, please remove the Lunar Module (LED Basket Light) and bring it to me. I’m hoping to have more glow disc golf events this fall and need to have these back. Thank you!

AWARDS


There will be a pre-selected collection of MVP Family discs for the winner of each division. If there is a tie we will discuss what is the best way to settle the tie that is agreeable to the players. Options include a playoff, coin/disc flip, CTP, or splitting the prize discs.

ACE / CTP FUND


If you paid into the ace fund during registration you are included in this. If you didn’t, you can sign up when you check in if you want to. If neither applies, skip to next section.


Thank you for participating into the Ace Fund. With all Maverick DG events, the Ace fund is paid out as large ticket items and not as cash. This is one of the ways MavDG is ‘maverick’ and it helps to pay for tournament expenses. I determine the payout items so that what is given out is higher than what was paid in so both the winner and the tournament benefits. If there are no aces, or fewer aces than prizes, we play a CTP game after the round. These prizes are going home with someone!

Please note: If there is a tie for first place in your division, we may start the CTP game before your playoff is done.

We had a lot of good feedback about our recent MVP Space Race with requests for more glow rounds.
So - we're going to start doing occassional glow rounds at various courses and formats. Courses will always be noticeably short. We will alternate between singles and random doubles. Cost is cheap - $5. $1 to cover my costs, $1 for ace fund, $3 cash payout.
First event: Singles at Black Hoof 9 on October 15, 2025.
Sign up starts at 6:30pm. Tee off at 7pm.

September 22, 2025 Update to entry into the Maverick Disc Golf Championship.

Players that have already earned a free entry have been registered. There is nothing more you need to do for now.

Players that have already earned a reduced fee entry have been put on the reserved list by their name and PDGA number. What you need to do: I would recommend you register now to lock in your registration and submit your shirt size (for amateurs). If you contact me I can give you a 50% discount code. If you end up earning a free entry I will refund you the entry fee you paid.

Players that have 3 to 5 points that could win a reduced fee but have not yet done so. What you need to do: I would recommend you register now to lock in your registration and submit your shirt size (for amateurs). If you end up earning a reduced entry fee I will refund you the the 50% you paid.

Players that have 2 or less points, you won’t be able to earn a reduced fee, but are still welcome to register. There are approximately 35 spots per Pool that will open up on Friday, September 26 at 6am.

Other important dates:
Monday October 6, 2025 10 AM - cutoff for guaranteed shirt size
Wednesday October 8, 2025 11:59PM - cutoff for full refund
Monday October 20, 2025 10 AM - removal of unpaid reservations and waitlists adjusted
Sunday, October 26, 2025 11:59PM - cutoff for refund with $10 handling fee. Requests for refund after this date will only be granted if the spot is filled from a waitlist for that pool.
Saturday, November 4, 2025 11:59PM - No refunds will be issued after this point (except those on the waitlist)
