Hello Everyone,
Thanks for registering for the MVP Space Race at Batesville presented by Dead Straight Disc Golf! We are excited for the tournament!
Importantly, here are the main logistics for the tournament. We plan on setting up at the Margaret Mary Health shelter in Liberty Park. This is near the baseball field and Batesville parks building on the 3rd base line. We should be set up here by 5:15 PM. Please come to this shelter to sign in / pick up your player's pack before the round.
We also will have a quick players meeting just before the planned 6:00 PM round start time to review any final details. At completion of the tournament, we will meet back at the shelter to review scores and hand out prize discs to winners. We may have additional discs and gear to browse/purchase from our store as well.
If anyone registered for a player’s pack only, please make arrangements to stop by before 6PM or after the round is completed to pick up your player's pack. If you accidentally registered for player's pack only but intended to register to play in the tournament, please send me a message ASAP.
Hole assignments are listed below. We made cards based on requests where possible. Please let me know if there are any issues with your card.

This tournament will be a 1 round, 27 hole (this format will go quickly!) GLOW tournament using ONLY the 2 glow in the dark discs received as the players pack (Streamline Eclipse Range putter/approach, Axiom Total Eclipse Crave Fairway Driver). This will be a shotgun start at approximately 6:00 PM at your assigned hole at Liberty Park. We will be playing through the 9 holes at Liberty Park three times, with shortened/alternate tee locations for all holes except for Hole 7.
Glow basics / logistics: Each player’s pack contains a UV flashlight with batteries to be used to charge up the glow discs. Please do not use a normal flashlight, as they will not work as well and can impair nighttime vision. You can use the UV flashlight to charge your discs whenever needed; MVP glow plastic can maintain it’s brightness for quite a while depending on color! Baskets will be marked with colored LED basket lights, and tee areas will be marked with flags and small LED lights. Please tee from the general area in between the tee flags; any children under 10 years old may throw from approximately 10 steps in front of the tee area if desired. Please be extra cautious of other players and people on/near the course while playing.
This tournament is an ace race format meaning scoring will not be based on strokes, but on points. Each player will take two shots off of the tee at each hole (one with each disc) and score points for aces/hole-in-ones (worth 5 points each), chain hits (worth 3 points each), and other basket/pole metal hits (worth 1 point each). You do not throw any additional shots or putts except for the tee shots. Each hole has a maximum possible 10 points scored (5points max per disc). The most cumulative points after 27 holes wins!
Each card will be given a scorecard and clipboard to record scores for the round. Please have one person take scores and confirm after each hole. You may use a digital scoring method such as the UDisc app, but please fill out the paper scorecard as well. These will be returned and used to determine final scores / winners after the round is complete.
IMPORTANT: Please be courteous to the other patrons in the park / on the course as you play. Be extra cautious during the glow round regarding where other players and people are located. Do not throw if there are any players in the way, and make sure to communicate clearly if there is any potential issue with safety. The weather is going to be very chilly this evening, so please come prepared for the weather.
Overall, remember this is a fun event! This is not a PDGA sanctioned event, but it should be a rewarding experience for everyone!
If you have any questions before Saturday, please send a comment on discgolfscene or send an email to [email redacted].
Thanks!
Josh Meyer
