Hello,
Thanks for registering for the MVP Circuit Challenge at Batesville presented by Dead Straight Disc Golf! We are excited for the tournament!
Importantly, here are the main logistics for the tournament. We plan on setting up at the Margaret Mary Health shelter in Liberty Park. This is near the baseball field and Batesville parks building on the 3rd base line. We should be set up here by 8:15 AM. Please come to this shelter to sign in / pick up your players pack before the round.
The 3 discs you receive (this excludes the optional Watermelon Pitch disc) are the only 3 discs you may throw for the entire round. We also will have a quick players meeting just before the planned 9:00 AM round start time to review any final details. At completion of the tournament, we will meet back at the shelter to review scores and hand out prize discs to winners. We may have additional discs and gear to browse/purchase from our store as well.
Hole assignments are listed in the pictures section on discgolfscene. We tried to make cards based on requests where possible. There were a few cards that had some conflicting requests, but generally you should be grouped with who you requested.
Due to the layout of the courses, you will play all 9 holes at your assigned course (Liberty Park or Liberty Woods/Getty Course) and then drive/walk to the other course once completed. You will then start on the same hole that you started at on the first 9-hole course. For example, if you start on hole 9 at Liberty Park, you will play hole 9, then 1-8 at Liberty Park, then hole 9 at Liberty Woods, then 1-8 at Liberty Woods.
Each card will be given a scorecard and clipboard to record scores for the round. Please have one person take scores and confirm after each hole. You may use a digital scoring method such as the UDisc app, but please fill out the paper scorecard as well. These will be returned and used to determine final scores / winners after the round is complete.
Please be courteous of the other patrons in the park / on the course as you play. Consider any disc on or over any roads (this does not include walking paths) as out of bounds (OB). Bring the disc back to the last point it crossed OB and play from there with a stroke penalty. Any standing water or creeks are considered casual, so you do not need to count OB or penalty strokes if your disc lands in those areas. There is possible rain forecasted for Saturday, so please come prepared for the weather. We will play rain or shine. If lightning is present, we will take shelter.
Overall, remember this is a fun event! This is not a PDGA sanctioned event, but it should be a rewarding experience for everyone!
If you have any questions before Saturday, please send a comment on discgolfscene or send an email to [email redacted].
Thanks!
