Thank you all who braved the weather...literally, it was a nasty drive this morning...to come to the 3rd annual Legendary Sleepy Hollow Mixed Doubles, fundraiser for Disc Girls Gone Wild! I am so thankful so many of you came anyway with the unplowed roads and 2 track highway! I will post scores later! I am tired:-) Congrats to Sarah DeMar and Tim for winning Open, Christina Upton and Nate for winning Am, and Duncan Spitz winning Cali!

Keeping Warm Winter Tips

Wear loose layers over a thermal layer

Wear a thin windbreaker over your sweatshirt...this keeps a lot of heat in and the wind from blowing through

Use mittens instead of gloves(if you have them)... I find it to keep my fingers warmer hand warmers

Wear wool socks. Do not layer too many socks as it will make your toes colder. (I wear smartwools with my gortex over them and it works like the windbreaker and keeps the heat in)

I will be purchasing hand warmers and each person will get 1, and you can purchase additional for $1 each going toward the fundraiser.

The question of ribbons came up. Yes you can tape ribbons on your discs. However, in my opinion you probably will not need them. The snow is hard on top so the only chance of a lost disc is if it hits ... show more ›

The question of ribbons came up. Yes you can tape ribbons on your discs. However, in my opinion you probably will not need them. The snow is hard on top so the only chance of a lost disc is if it hits a footprint just right and goes under. However, I don't really think the snow is that soft underneath either, but if you want to play it safe, you may use ribbons.
