Ihear of more and more people travling hours to play tournys to avoid this kind of bs. Kind of sad when u think of the amount of courses and players in our area

William, what issue is this regarding? You are a poor communicator and often confuse me. What problem will be solved when I take over your position?

william, i was very upset to see that you had removed me from your friends list and, i must admit, quite impressed that you were able to figure it out. see you at leagues.

What kind of stupid ass would want that job, William?

I have a novel idea for you and your ilk Daemon.
Why dont you become president of A3 and you can run it anyway you would like to, problem solved?!
I can and will step down anytime anybody wants to take over my position.

Daemon, it is unfortunate that you could not hold your tournament at Lakeshore on Saturday, but to my knowledge it is not correct that Bill Gilbert and a3disc kicked you out of Lakeshore. Lakeshore did.

I'm still learning about how to get approval for events there, so I can't actually lay out a process, but here are some things I have learned. Don't take these for gospel, because I am still learning. I guess I'll find out if posts in here have a character limit ;-0

Yeah, Peter, those relationships are deadly important. I've probably spent more time talking nice to planners, administrators, property owners, park rangers over the last several years than out in the field doing course design. You just can't appear to get in the face of the folks who own or manage the courses, 'cause they can just shut you down. Unfortunately, what matters most is their perception - because it's their reality, and it's what they'll make decisions based on.

unfortunate the way this went down.. thanks for some clarification Terry....I am not sure how a small, unsanctioned event such as LLB open v1.2 taxes the lakeshore apts resources more than any other busy discing saturday...

However, we need to be sure we (disc golfers) maintain a good relationship with management....

Kevin, I think you are mistaken. From recent PMs from William Gilbert-

"If you are going to organize anything there you need to do it elsewhere until you are approved in advance by A3"

"the Calhouns to not have decision making powers at lakeshore. We the board of A3Disc do. "

"all tournament or events of any kind must go through A3 first. "

These statements all directly contradict what Kat told me yesterday. There seems to be some sort of communication issue, which because William is involved, is not a surprise to me. He is a very poor communicator.

Lakeshore has always been a private course. Its owned by the apartment complex, its not a public park. And because of the past events that were run there, that disregarded rules, the complex is now overseeing any events. As I understand it, A3 has only become the enforcer for what the complex wants.

If you want to run an event at Lakeshore you have to coordinate it with Kat Dickenson.
She has all her contact info on the discgolfersrus website.
