Greetings disc golfers,
We are excited to invite you to the last of the 2021 Lake Padden Disc Golf Series. This event will be on Sunday, December 19, with tee-times between 9AM and Noon.
The price is $25, with $21 going to the course for greens fees, and $4 going to the Whatcom Disc Golf Club for facilitating these events. This is a casual round of disc golf that you’ve signed up for, not a tournament. We wanted to give people who were curious about the course but didn’t necessarily want the hubbub of a tournament a chance to play it.
As this is a trial run at Lake Padden, we ask that you behave yourself and look nice (i.e. “respectable”), especially in and around the clubhouse.
There is a lot riding on this day of disc golf going smoothly, and there will be a lot of eyes watching us to see if we fit in at Lake Padden Golf Course. Please act as if the future of disc golf at Padden is riding on your behavior, because it is.
Some things to remember:
Cart rental is $8 per rider, rent in the proshop about 15 minutes before your tee time.
Be prompt and on time. Please start your round at your tee time.
If you are holding up the group behind you, let them pass as you would at any other disc golf course.
The quickest way to let a group pass is to all throw your drives, all walk to their drives and the passing group finishes out, while the other group waits until the passing group is out of range, then finish the hole.
If you can’t make your card, please let your card mates know, so they can start on time. Since we are paying Lake Padden Golf Course for spots in advance, if you’ve gotten this email we cannot give refunds.
Don’t walk on the golf greens unless absolutely necessary, and then with light feet. Greens are out of bounds, and the lie goes to last in-bounds crossed. Sand traps are played as a hazard, with one stroke penalty and played from the lie.
Enjoy the Coyote Grill before and after your round. You can bring drinks and food from the grill out on the course with you, but no outside food or beverage.
We want this to be the first of many tournaments and disc golf rounds at Lake Padden Golf Course. It is an incredible place, and the course is shaping up beautifully. We are ecstatic to bring disc golf to Padden and can’t wait for you to play the course!
Cheers,
Al Schwartz and Mikkel Hong
