Everyone is playing one round on Saturday, November 13th on predetermined tee times. Your tee times can be found here:

The course itself does not have an actual address. It is called Longview Public Use Area (Perry Lake). Coordinates are 39.186826,-95.440781. If you search for Apple Valley Lane Event Center, 9252 Apple Valley Ln, Ozawkie, KS 66070, the course is ¼ mile past it.

LATE WITHDRAWAL / NO-SHOW



At this point, it is too late to receive a refund. It would be very helpful though if you notify us that you cannot make it.,

PARKING -

Please only park in the small parking lot or along the road on the EAST SIDE ONLY, which is the side away from the course. Parking on the west side could lead you to be towed.



RESTROOMS



The outhouse toilets down the road at the boat ramp should be open.



CHECK-IN



Check-in 30-60 minutes before your tee time.



WARM-UP AREA



There is a practice basket to warm up your putting. There is about 200’ of space to warm up your throws with a putter. There is not enough room for full on warm ups with a driver. If that is part of your routine I would suggest to use the fields at the Perry High School or Rising Sun Disc Golf Course in Lecompton, KS or Ozawkie Disc Golf Course.

SCORING



We will be using the PDGA digital scoring system. (This is not Udisc). To access it, go to pdga.com/score. Enter in the password, then your last name or PDGA number, and the card will pull up. I will have paper scorecards as a backup. You can also use udisc as a backup. However, to submit the scores, it needs to be done through the PDGA scoring system.

COURSE CONDITIONS



Longview is extremely NOT cart friendly. Carts are not recommended. I have personally played 299 courses in 38 states and 1 Canadian province and Longview DGC is in my top 5 favorite. It’s fun, but rugged and tiring.



AMATEUR PLAYER PACKS



Recreational and Intermediate divisions are the only divisions that will receive a player pack disc. Those divisions will have a small payout limited to the top 25% of the field.



All Advanced divisions including age and gender protected will not have a player pack with a much larger payout going to the normal 45% of the field.



Pros do not have a player pack with payout in the form of a check or Paypal.

WATER


Longview Disc Golf course is pretty remote without a lot of services. You should bring your own water with extra to have after the round if needed.





ACE / CTP FUND



There is not an ace fund for this event.





AWARDS / PAYOUTS



For pro players, during registration you were given the choice of a mailed check or Paypal Goods & Services. Unfortunately for those that were first put on the waitlist, the choice was not available. I will reach out to you for your preference if you do have payout coming.



For amateurs, during registration you were given the choice of payouts through DZ Discs or Maverick Disc Golf. I failed to have this option turned on for those that were put on the waitlist. If you have payout coming I will reach out to you for your preference. For those that did choose which option, that choice was locked when registration closes. Administratively it would be too difficult to allow people to change after the fact. Your payout amounts will be communicated to you after the event no later than Monday, 11/15.

There is a First Place trophy for all divisions. If it looks like you may win your division, it would be appreciated if you stuck around to collect your trophy, otherwise you will need to coordinate with me in getting it picked up as shipping them will be problematic.

-- One note on water that changes from year to year. On Hole 16, the creek long of the basket is OB. If disc surrounded by water, you're ob. Far side of creek is safe.

On holes 17 & 18, the same creek is casual. If you are in the creek play it where it lies OR if you want to you can take casual relief as long as the new lie you take is on the line of play. The line of play is a straight line from the basket, through your old lie, continuing straight to the next safe area. If you are in the creek on 17 or 18 this likely will mean the casual relief would then be on the far side of the creek.

Platypus Open (Longview 11/2021) Pars & OB rules PAR 69, 8315’

All roads on and over are OB. Parking lot is OB. On and inside of shelter is OB. Pond on Holes 14 & 15 is OB if surrounded by water. Any other water on course is casual. In order to get casual relief, you must be farther from the target and is on the line of play. The line of play is a straight line from the target, through your disc, to the next available safe point. For creeks, this can be the top of the creek bank, likely on the other side of the creek as the basket.
